Sneak Peek

I'm gonna do a quick author's note before I get into the sneak peek!

I just want to thank everyone again! It has been an absolute joy writing this and reading all your comments. Knowing my stories have an impact on people, even if little, makes me feel really good! It's one of the reasons I write.

But without further adieu, here's the sneak peek! Kudos to you if you can guess what it's from and or what pairing it is. I'll give you a hint - it's a show on Netflix, and I'm a bit late to the show's hype.

Warning - there is language, as this new story is very different than Heart of Pearl.

I may or may not have altered some words to not give anything away. Words that have been changed will be written in [brackets].

The two boys had their own little conversation as I watched from a distance, neither of them spotting me yet. It wasn't like that was uncommon. I don't know what it was, but something about me made me easily unnoticeable and forgettable. Maybe it was because I looked like every other teenage brunette.

[He] moved from his place by the backdoor, over closer to [his friend]. It was not even noon and he already had a beer in hand.

I couldn't help but watch the blonde. I had only been with the group for maybe about a month, but they made me feel like I had known all of them for years. Especially him. He never failed to make me laugh and, though I wouldn't mention it to anyone, blush. Like now, staring at his bare, toned chest didn't prevent heat from making its way to my face.

I had to shake it off quickly. I don't know when the boys would notice me, but I sure as hell didn't want it to be when I was drooling over [him].

"Are you two done jerking each other off?" I finally spoke up, walking up to the boat, and making my presence known.

The boy's conversation promptly stopped and they looked over towards me.

"Why, did you wanna join in?" [He] responded with a smirk and an eyebrow raised.

[His friend] reached over and smacked him across the head. "We're gonna go out and do some fishing. You in?"

I smiled and nodded, leaning against the boat. "I'm already here, so why not?"

"That's the spirit, Add!" [He] exclaimed, wrapping his arm around my waist.

From what I've learned, [he] is a touchy person. All the [group is], really. [Him] just more so. That doesn't stop butterflies from fluttering in my stomach every time he gets close to me. Brushes his touch against my skin. Directs any attention towards me. I know I need to kill those insects, cause of the [group's] rule I was introduced to when I joined. But dammit if my imagination didn't go wild every now and then.

Everyone was silent for a moment, [my friend] the first one coming up with an idea. "Kegger?"

No one disagreed with that. A Kegger Party was a signature thing for the [group]. People from all over the island came to hang out with friends and drink cheap beer. I, personally, have never been to one.

I stood up from my seat on the end of [his friend's] bed. "Well, my acting normal has a lot to do with getting home. I'll see you guys later." By later, I meant tomorrow. I had no intention to go to the Kegger.

Everyone said their goodbyes, and I headed out front. I picked up my bike and was about to get on it when a hand on my shoulder stopped me.

"Flower." It was [him]. "You coming to the Kegger?"

I turned to face him. He was wearing his usual smirk. "You know parties aren't really my thing." Too many people in one place all together.

"Come on." He pleaded. "It'll be fun. You're a [part of the group] now, you have to come to them."

I sigh a little, pushing hair behind my ear. "I don't know..."

"You won't regret coming. I'll make sure of it." He sent a little wink my way.

I couldn't help but smile, shaking my head at how easily he can rope me in. "Okay fine."

"Yes!" He exclaimed, fist-bumping the air. "I'll make sure to save you a drink." He said as he started to back up back to the house.

I giggle and got on my bike. "I'm holding you to that," I said before riding away.

This boy has got me boned.
