Starting life in a New School: a Re:Zero fanfic

Subaru picked his head up. Who's idea was a 'surprise quiz' on culture he knew nothing about?! Just what the hell is a 'mabeast'? What is a 'Magic Gate'? The quiz had all this weirdness that he'd never heard of. He managed to get a few answers about TV and the such, but a lot of it was confusing nonsense to him. There was about a minute left, and it was only a half-day since it was the first day back.
"This is fine" he said to himself
Frederica peered over at Subaru's paper. He hadn't answered many questions, but the ones he had answered were perfect. The answers were correct, every word of them. "I'll have to keep an eye on him.."  she thought. He was a pretty good guy, not just because he was nice, but he was also good looking, and had good hair. Rather purdy, in fact.

Finally, the bell rang. "Class, you are dismissed" Roswaal announced.

"Finally.." Subaru said to himself. "Now I can go home and-" he was cut off by Frederica "Hey Subaru, you did good on the questions you did answer" she told him, in a poor attempt to flirt.
"Uh, thanks" he said.
Flirting failed
"There's always tomorrow.." Frederica muttered to herself.

Emilia smiled at him "Ready to go home, Subaru?"

Subaru looked over and responded "yeah. Yeah I'm ready."

On the way home, they ran into someone familiar. Cat ears, blue dress, tail. Yep. It was Felix. Only this time, he was with somebody.

"Oh! Subaru and Emilia, what a coincidence-nyah!"

"Hey Felix." Subaru said. "Hello Felix!" Emilia said, more cheerily. "How was your first day-nyah?" Felix asked Subaru.
"Well, it was pretty difficult. We had a pop quiz, but I didn't really know a lot, heh.."
"Well, First day is always the hardest." Said Felix's companion. She had Green hair, and was noticing taller than Felix. Also had a very powerful posture. Subaru felt small.
"Nya! I forgot! This is my best friend Crusch!" Felix said.
Subaru felt less scared. "Oh, hey. I'm Subaru." He shook her hand.
"It is nice to meet you." Crusch said to him.
"We really should be going.." Emilia said, with a hint of jealousy in her voice.
"Oh, ok" Subaru responded. "Goodbye Felix, Crusch!" He waved as they left for their house.
