Kent did give us some information. We found out where Macon, his leader was. He almost gave the information so willingly that I wasn't sure that it was true. Even now, I still have an off feeling about it, but everyone researched it and tried to assure me. I just warned the, that it could be false. We tracked down Macon's location and we're ready to infiltrate his hideout about 3 weeks after we had Kent. Kent was locked up and the guys and I, plus Maddy, prepared to leave.
"You ready?" I looked over at Maddy who nodded and smiled.
"You?"
"Yeah, I have to be. But Maddy?"
"Yes?"
"Please keep your eyes out and ear open for loose info. I have a feeling that Macon isn't the top guy. Someone else is behind this. Someone bigger than Macon." I watched her face.
She looked puzzled, but nodded anyways, "I will." I hugged her as she hopped into a car with other guys. Devon came up behind me, wrapping his arms around my waist as I waved. "Bye," I whispered. Macy had put earpieces in our ears and microphones that were worn on our bodies. On me, it was like a necklace, but hidden beneath my suit. Devon's was a stud piercing on his earlobe. Derek had a nose piercing, which is where his was.
Many byes sounded in my ear as they drove off. Devon brought me around the garage, stopping in front of a motorcycle. I took one look at it and squealed, "I call driving!" I snatched the keys from Devon, throwing my leg over the bike. He smiled as I stroked the bike, starting it. He threw a leg on behind be, arms wrapping around my waist. I pulled down my mask and drove.
The wind blew my hair and I could hear Devon's laugh from behind me. We took the back route, leaving the motorcycle about a block before base. I heard Macy's voice in my ear, "We're in." I turned to Devon, motioning for him to go. We started towards the base. I scaled the building easily, Devon following me. At the top, I looked around for the door. After studying the blueprints for hours, I memorized the entire layout of this base. The door was exactly where I thought it was. Devon and I walked in, going down the stairs quietly. Finally, we came to a room that seemed to be for weaponry. I looked around, recalling the inventory of their weapons. They should have some BB guns around here. I looked around, finally seeing them. I grabbed several, loading them and handing a few to Devon. I tucked several into my extra holsters, ready for use. My aim was not to kill, but to knock out and capture. We crept around, making our way to the main office that was showed on our map. I looked back at Devon, who crept into the light.
My breath caught. His brown eyes glinted behind his small mask, and his mouth had a determined set to it. His hair was windswept from our ride and his body moved with a beautiful grace. His face tilted to face me, his eyes catching mine, his mouth slipping into a lazy smile as he caught up with me. I tried to resume breathing as I smiled back, my stomach in flutters. We'd been together for a while now, but my heart always stopped whenever he looked at me. The love was definitely still there. The fire lit in his eyes as he watched me.
"Hurry! We're nearing the office." I heard Macy's hushed whisper. Devon looked at me, signaling that he heard and that we had to move. I quickly moved, heading towards the stairs, crashing into a rock solid body. I looked up into the blue eyes of a grimy blond man, who held my wrist tightly.
He looked down at me, smirking, "Well, what do we have here?" Then his eyes widened in shock as he collapsed on the ground, a BB stuck in his shoulder.
Devon looked at me as I looked down and said, "An idiot. Shoulda known not to touch girls all dressed in black." Devon smiled, coming up beside me.
"Are you alright?" I nodded and we continued. Devon kept the BB out the whole time, never knowing when we'd run into someone else. Soon enough, we reached the office to see everyone else waiting for is in the shadows. We joined. Devon watched the door, "What's going on?"
"Macon seems to be talking with another man, a man who he seems to respect highly." I looked over and through the dark, I caught Maddy's eye. She nodded as we turned towards the door. "His name, or what he likes to be called, is Rogue." Maddy turned to me again, motioning with her hands. From what it looked like, she needed me to get a clear opening of this man so she could take a picture. We either need to capture him or at least get a picture. I nodded and we scooted closer together, our hands finding each other in the dark. I heard Macy in my ear, "They're done talking. It's time to enter the office boys, and girls of course." I squeezed Maddy's hand as she prepared her camera, which was attached to her gun. Her camera was honestly one of the coolest things ever. We exchanged glances and I slipped into the office. Maddy held her gun out, her camera taking everything in.
"Hello Macon." Macon whipped around to face me. Behind me, Maddy's camera took pictures as Rogue slowly turned aroun. She kept her gun pointed. Macon lunged at me and I dove to the side, rolling as I landed. I snuck my foot out, tripping Macon and he landed face first on he floor. I leapt on top of him, letting Maddy and the guys handle rogue as I pulled a BB out on Macon, shooting him and tying him up. I turned to Rogue, who seemed to be making his grand escape, jumping out the window. I quickly followed, hurrying to get Macon in the car. We'd question and find out what's really up. I turned and watched Rogue run under a street lamp, turning back to smile at me dangerously. He raised his hand, making a finger gun and shooting me with it. I pulled out my gun, aiming it when he disappeared into the night.
..........
We headed to the basement in Devon's house. I walked down the narrow hallway, finally stopping by a set of platinum and titanium bars. I looked inside the cell to see Macon, hunched over and chained to the wall. The officer watching him saluted us and left. Devon unlocked the cell, his hand on the small of my back, guiding me into the cell. Maddy followed me, along with Macy and Mason. We closed it, not locking it in case we had to get out fast.
"Hey Macon." My voice was painfully cheery and Macon looked up at me, squinting. I smiled, "You wanna answer a few questions for us? Pretty please?"
"Never." He sounded feral as he growled. I looked down and stooped down, getting in his face, "Now that is not nice sir. I may have to punish you. I'll give you one more chance, will you answer questions for us?" My voice hardened at the end.
"No." His voice faltered and my whole face changed. Most of my face was covered, except for my eyes and mouth. I smiled down at him coldly. I reached down grabbing his hair, and pulling him into a standing position. With my other hand, I slapped him, throwing his whole head to the side, "What was that?"
"N-no." He attempted to lift his hand to his already reddening cheek, but was stopped by the chains. His voice broke as I smiled at him again, cruelly charming.
"Now Macon, I hate torture and I hate violence, but you're not making this easy." It was true, doing this almost made me sick to my stomach. I absolutely hated hurting people, but his was my job. And I was going to have to get used to it. I pulled my fist back, slamming it into his gut and dropping him on the ground. He gasped air in and out, his face contorting in shock and pain. I walked over, stomping on a limp hand lying on the ground. He screamed out in pain.
"I'll answer." His face was red and grimy, his hair dirty. I'm pretty sure his hand was shattered, and he was in a lot of pain.
"Good." I motioned for Macy to come over. She pulled out a piece of paper, and leaned against the wall, preparing to write.
"Who is Rogue?" Macy stared Macon in the eye.
Macon drew in a shaky breath, "Rogue is our leader. And there are so much more of us than you think."
