"BETTY!" A loud voice ripped me out of my thoughts. My head immidiately turned to the source of the scream. Is somebody hurt? But before I could even get a good look at what's happend a body slammed full force into me. Veronica and I both tumbled backwards in some steel blue lockers. Damn, that hurt.
"Oh it's been so long I've missed you" She mumbled into my hair, still hugging me. I rolled my eyes smiling. "You saw me last week friday, just because we couldn't see eachother on saturday doesn't mean that you have to pretend it was a year" I smiled and pushed her gently off of me. "It felt like a year to me Betty, take it seriously. Can't I miss my best friend?" I answered with a "yeah yeah" rolling my eyes again, with a smile.
That ladies and gents, is my best friend of the whole world Veronica Lodge. She may look like a mean girl/bitch to some, with her gorgeous raven hair, her always brand new desingner clothes and the marvellous make up she always wears but if you get to know her she is the kindest person you will ever meet. Funny story actually, we met because I thought she was that type of mean girl, when we were still in elementary school. She tried to come up to me a couple of times but I always avoided her and pretended to be busy doing other things. In elementary school many of the cool girls picked on me because I enjoyed reading more than being in a big friends group or because I didn't care about boyfriends then, so obviously I tried to stay out of Veronicas way. I didn't need another girl picking on me.
But then one day when all classes had ended, I saw her crying outside in the parking lot wating for her mom to pick her up. And being honest, even mean girls can have feelings, mind the 'can', so I asked her what's wrong and she told me that she felt hurt my the fact that I didn't want to be her friend. I immidiately hugged her and we sort of talked it out, as good as 9 year olds can talk it out and since then we have been by eachothers side.
Walking down the halway, Veronica or how I like to call her, Ronnie had me filled up with all the new gossip around town. You know we are like polar opposites. Where I like to stay at home in my room, read a book, watch a tv show or study - she is always out. Either partying, helping out somewhere or going on dates with guys. Belive me, she is the total guy magnet.
So obviously she knows all the things around our small town which I obviously don't so she's kind of like my own news channel. "Oh, and did you know, that the police sent Jim Hubbard to rehab because they found him at the side of the road, nearly overdosing?" The words tumbled out of her mouth like she was vomiting. It was normal, though I find it every time fascinating.
I frowned disgusted, how could people reach such a low to act like that. On the other hand I felt sorry for them. They can't get out of there themselves. "Jim? But I thought he was already there once?" I looked at her confused. She nodded turning her face to the hallway again. "Yeah, at least I think so. But there were rumours that as soon as he got out of rehab he didn't change his way of consuming things."
"Poor guy" I frowned and Veronica patted my supportive on my upper arm. What a great way to start the day.

The bell shrilling jolted me out of my endless thoughts. The time has come, the South Siders would arrive any minute now and Veronica with Kevin and some other fellas are going to welcome them right at the door with flyers, handing out schedules etc. So obviously she isn't here right now which makes everything worse since I can't lay my sorrows on her.
This is going to be a disaster.
I was the first one to leave the classroom even tho the teacher was still babbling something about homework. But in the moment I could care less. I need to meet up with Ronnie quick, at least I need to protect her if something goes wrong.
I just screeched to a halt behind the table in between Veronica and Kevin as the big door opened. A big mass of black punk dressed people entered and stood still infront of the nicely welcoming table. And guess who was the leader, standing in front of everybody? You're right, my newly found enemy Jughead Jones. And to say he looked good the way he is dressed would be an understatement, for that thought I just want to hit myself.
Hi guys! So I don't know if you noticed but i am currently updating this whole story, keeping the story line the same don't worry, and I'll try my best to do it as fast as I can bc I already posted those chapters once so I can't put thos as drafts anymore, I'm sorry, so for a while you'll have to deal with the fact, that there will be at some point a chapter ending halfway and this text will be standing at exact this spot or the next chapter will be empty except for this text. (Actually you will know bc those which are ready to be read have an (edited) behind their chapter ... thingy aso yeah) I have currently so much fun re-writing this story so i hope I can finish it as soon as possible to give you new chapters but school is booking me out constantly so I am trying my best. Thanks for understanding! <3
