I push through the crowd, trying to find Cedric. Luckily for me, I bump right into Cho.
"Do you know where Cedric is?"
I ask kindly.
"He's at the astronomy tower"
She says, quite coldly.
"Thanks"
Cedric did mention Cho being slightly intimidated of me because of how close we were, but I did not know how bad it was. I appreciated her trying to be civil but it did make me feel negatively whenever she talked to me in a distant way.
"Stay away from her"
I hear Cedric angrily yell.
"I am Diggory"
I hear Draco calmly sneer.
I quickly hide myself from them, my ears were on them though.
"This is pathetic"
I hear Draco mutter.
"You're bugging her"
Cedric angrily replies.
"I am not! I do not care enough for her to be bugging her"
Draco argues.
"All she does is hang out with those filthy mud bloods and Weasleys. She may be a pure blood, but she is tainted, she disgusts me. I would never willingly get closer to her"
Draco sharply yells, his words jabs into my heart.
"You take that back"
Cedric yells.
"No, I will not. She disgusts the soul out of me, she is a blood traitor. She doesn't deserve anything, her blood is tainted with mud"
Draco snaps.
I cover my mouth to silence myself as my eyes turn glossy.
"She is like a little sister to me, she is my family, you will not talk about her in that tone"
Cedric grits out through his teeth.
"I said what I said"
Draco snobbishly sneers.
He makes sure to bump shoulders with Cedric before heading out. I don't bother to hide myself as I slide down against the wall onto the floor with a hand over my mouth. One of my hand grips the cold stone wall as I hear Draco's foot steps come closer.
Maybe if I keep my head down, he wont notice me.
I try to convince myself.
My eyes are glued to the ground as his cologne touches my nose. His footsteps stop in front of me for a second. My throat chokes up as a tear drops onto the floor, he knows that it is me but doesn't dare to speak a word. After a couple of seconds of silence, Draco leaves.
I wipe the tears and calm myself for a minute before walking up to Cedric.
"Hey"
I say.
"Hey"
He replies back.
I swing my arms around his neck and embrace us into a tight hug. He truly made me feel like I was at home.
"You wouldn't abandon me, would you?"
I shuddered against his shoulder.
"Why would you ever say that?"
Cedric questions as he breaks up the hug.
I shrug.
"I would never abandon you Cel, trust me"
Cedric assures me.
Tears trickle down my eyes, causing Cedric to watch me with horror. I place my head against his sweater, he wraps his arms around my shoulder and keeps me closer.
"The bad feeling wont go away Cedric"
I cry out, begging for him to listen to me for once.
"What bad feeling?"
He asks as I sob into his sweater.
"Like you're going to leave me".
I sob out as I grip his sweater.
"I will never leave you Cel"
Cedric assures me, patting my head with his hands as he does so.
"I know, I know"
I say, my words muffled by his soft sweater.
We stayed silent for a couple of minutes before I calmed down. My post crying hiccups continue as we disconnect the hug.
"Why don't we go to your room? It's getting really late"
I nod, not being able to form words.
We walk in awkward silence.
My eyes darts down to my feet as we enter the Slytherin common room. Cedric glares at Draco, who is sitting on his signature couch. I quickly look down to the floor as Draco's eyes move past Cedric to me. I touch my eyes, trying to cover up the red puffy skin. Cedric protectively brings my head closer to his chest as he glares at Draco.
Once we arrived to my dorm, I snake my arms around Cedric's torso.
"I just need another hug". I mutter into his chest.
Cedric sighs and pats my head. He then wraps his arm around my head to bring me closer to him.
"anything to make you feel better". He muttered against my forehead before placing a gentle kiss onto my forehead.
I close my eyes and choke on a sob.
"shhhh, it's okay"
Cedric comforts.
"I can't do this without you"
I wept out.
"I wont be gone anytime soon, I promise"
He assured me.
