It has been a week since the lake incident and everything was going smoothly. Draco was his usual self but from time to time he showed some sincerity. His cold eyes turned warm from time to time and the tone in his voice became more genuine. His sarcastic remarks and over dramatic wits didn't stop though, but I didn't mind.

I took in a long inhale as I let my body float against the water. The birds chirped as the leaves rustled against the wind. I hear Draco come into the water but I concentrated on floating, enjoying the calm scenery.

The lake incident that happened a couple of days ago let Draco become more open minded, he swam a lot more. It was usual for us to go swimming for hours at a time, it was a routine now. We usually stayed apart in the water, but from time to time we would swim and play around together. I look up at the sky and think about Cedric and Effy, I wondered how Cedric would react to my new friendship with Draco.

Would he be mad?

He couldn't be, despite Draco insulting Cedric for being a hufflepuff, Cedric never held a grudge against him over that. The only reason why Cedric wasn't fond of him was because of how he treated me, Cedric saw me as a sister and I saw him as a brother. I know for a fact that I would react the same if somebody treated Cedric the way Draco treated me.

He would understand.

I thought to myself, trying to justify the benefit of the doubt.

My mind then wandered to the peculiar muggle that I grew to be fond of in a short time. My thoughts used to be tainted by the ideology that muggles were filthy, uneducated, morons by my grandfather before he passed. I remember how he didn't buy me a muggle book in diagon ally and how his judgmental stare roamed the well known muggleborns, or mudbloods as he liked to call them. Even though I knew that my grandfather's philosophy wasn't right from the start, Effy changed my perspective. She helped me unconsciously realize how complicated and structured muggles are, in the inside and the outside. They were no different than us on the way they felt and dealt with things.

I began to submerge my entire lower body into the water, stopping my intensive thoughts. I looked around to find Draco but he couldn't be spotted. I sigh with a hint of sadness as I pushed myself under the water. A pair of hands grabbed my wrists gently, I open my eyes to see Draco. I smiled at him softly as he pulled me closer to him. He studied my face, moving his icy eyes back and forth as if he was scanning for something in me. My hand roamed to his hair that moved oh so slowly, it was just so angelic. I can feel his eyes on my face as I ran my fingers through his hair. I can feel his grip tighten around my wrist as my smile grew. He pulled me even closer to him by grabbing the curve of my waist, my heart thumped aggressively as I collided into his chest. He then slowly swam up to the surface with me in his arms.

I gasp out for hair when we reach for the surface. Although we were both in the air, Draco didn't let go of me. After I wipe the water from my eyes, I look up to his hair that let the water drip onto my face. I ran my hands through it as Draco wipes the water from his face with one hand, his other hand being on my waist. My body begins to shiver, the cold afternoon air froze my body instantly.

"You're cold."

Draco states, to which I shake my head to.

"Are you brainless? You're shivering."

He spat out.

"I am not shivering."

I grit out of my chattering teeth.

Draco smirks as his hands holds me tight.

"So you're body is shivering because you can't handle me?"

He asks smugly.

I roll my eyes and try to pry his hand off of me, but to no avail.

"I am fine, let go of me."

I say as my teeth chatters.

"You're not fine, have you gone mad?"

Draco scolds me as I try to pry my way out of his hold.

"I have not gone mad, Draco."

I argue as I subconsciously inch closer to Draco for warmth.

"Then why don't you get out of the water if you're not mad?"

Draco taunts as his fingers dug into my skin.

I whined in pain as his rings imprinted onto my bare skin, his rings always left a small indent on my skin. I would be lying if I said that I hated it though.

"You are going out of the water with me and that is final."

Draco commanded as he swam over to the rock.

"I'm staying in the water."

I shriek, followed by a laugh as he swings body across his shoulder.

"Stubborn idiot."

I hear him mutter under his breath.

I pinch his exposed back, causing him to shriek. My laugh is paused by an uncomfortable sneeze, I can tell that Draco is smirking with his 'I told you so' look.

"I told you that you were cold."

Draco brags as he walks towards the house, my body still being laid against his shoulder.

"I am not cold."

I argue before sneezing again.
