Chapter 7

Duncan's POV:

I jumped and turned around.

"Stand still or I'll end up poking you again," grunted Mummy, sticking another needle into my suit. She was adjusting my suit for the wedding.

You know, a guy doesn't like waking up to find out that he's supposed to attend a wedding for his fake marriage. I almost had a heart attack when James told me this morning.

Mummy stuck another needle in and straightened up. "Alright, nothing major. You're just a bit skinnier than I first thought but it's nothing I can't fix quickly. Suit off."

I obediently pulled the suit off and changed into something more casual. Mummy smiled at me and folded the suit over her arm.

My room door opened and James stuck his head in. He quickly pulled it back as Mummy hurled a book she grabbed from my desk at him. I heard him cursing.

"You're not allowed to see Duncan before the wedding!" Mummy shrieked. I kissed her cheek, thanking her. The last thing I want right now is to see James. I blame him for this wedding.

She left. As soon as she was gone Casey slipped into the room.

"I always thought the first time I saw my boyfriend getting married it would be to me," she grinned.

"I know," I agreed.

We hugged. The door opened again and something whizzed past my head. I released Casey quickly.

James glared at us. I shuffled away from his sister. He jerked his head towards the door and Casey pouted. She shot me a sweet smile and then left. Once she was gone James rounded on me.

"Dude, don't date my sister. It's creepy."

"And this isn't?"

"True."

"Sides, we really like each other."

"Uh-huh."

"Oh shut up."

I punched his arm good-naturedly. He grinned at me and said, "Still, it's creepy."

We sat around chatting until I heard Mummy coming. James vaulted out of room via window. I rolled my eyes disbelievingly.

Mummy came in holding the altered suit. She smiled and held it out to me. I gingerly took it, still wondering if I really had to participate in this wedding.

"Yes you do," she said as if she read my mind. I glanced at her suspiciously. She kissed my cheek and left the room. With a sigh I changed. The suit really did fit better now. Good thing I've been working out else I'd look fat in this thing.

"My abs look better," came James's voice from the window. I jumped in shock and spun around, hurling the first thing that came to hand. The cushion that people stab needles into.

He ducked then jumped back into the room.

"Geez," he pouted, dusting off his own suit. He grinned at me.

"I thought you dropped down," I said, my heart still hammering in my chest. I get frightened really easily.

"I did. But I landed harshly on a tree branch and decided to just climb up," he shrugged.

"You are so weird."

"Weird or not I still have better abs."

I shook my head in amusement and opened my room door. I bit my tongue in surprise at seeing Sport lurking outside my room with a video camera.
