Chapter 15
James's POV:
Duncan hissed at me. I didn't move. He turned away and smiled. My stomach churned. He kissed me. My tummy started dancing the cha-cha. He started hissing. I winced and wanted to run. I couldn't.
He turned into a huge snake. I couldn't budge. My eyes started welling with tears. I am petrified of snakes. He lurched forward.
I collided with something. My dream still vivid in my head, I clung on.
"James, you're clawing out my eyes," groaned Duncan. I broke away from him. We stared for a while. I saw a freaky snake thing. Duncan leant forward. I froze. His hands were in my hair. I couldn't move. My mind was still picturing him as a giant snake. His hands slid down.
Screams of terror were building up inside of me. The snake didn't move. He kept himself pressed against me. His cold hands were around my waist now. Tears were coming. Tears?! I don't cry! Never! Except for when I'm positively terrified. I've never been this scared before, what made it worse was the fact that the room was darkish, I could see but there was still too much dark everywhere.
Hand poked and prodded me from the darkness.
Light streamed in. He broke away.
"Rise and shine!" sang Casey, skipping into the room. She pulled open the curtains and looked at me. I was rapidly wiping away tears. She smiled and left the room.
Duncan frowned. "James, are you okay?" I shot him an angry glare. "You're not supposed to touch me."
"Well you didn't object."
"I was freaking scared!"
"Of me?"
"You were a snake."
A look of realization came onto his face. It was quickly replaced with a cheeky grin. "You kiss well when you're upset, maybe I should scare you every morning." He crawled closer, putting his hand on my chest. "You get like, ten times more handsome when you show some emotion."
Meaning he saw the tears and didn't do anything about it. I growled at him. He laughed and jumped out of bed.
The door slammed open. We both flinched. Duncan jumped back onto the bed. I gripped the blankets.
Michelangelo walked in, a booklet in his hands. He smiled at us. "Howdy boys."
We mumbled a greeting.
"I just came to tell you guys it's over. My study is over. You two can go back to being married by yourselves."
"Bye," I said.
He gave me an irritated look. "I must say, I'm impressed by how real you guys managed to make your marriage look. Seeing as how you are officially married, I think I'm still gonna perform little studies now and again."
I swore. Duncan grabbed my hand. I tensed up. His cold, cold reptilian hand.
"And I'll be taking back the babies," added Michelangelo. He went to the crib. I finished it last night. He picked up Skylar. She looked at him and started crying. He also took the egg satchel and slung it over his shoulder.
I frowned. Duncan released my hand and I burst out, "What are you doing?! Leave them!"
Michelangelo glanced at me. "I can't. You two aren't parents. I can't leave two little children in your care. I'm taking the baby back to the orphanage and if they don't want her, she's going to the streets and the egg is going to become my breakfast. Ta-ta."
