Chapter 12
Hordes of fangirls stared at us. I stepped back. James grabbed my wrist.
"When I say run, get ready to run," he hissed. I nodded. The fans approached. I braced myself.
"Run!" he yelled, twisting around. Dead end. More fangirls were behind us.
It was like one of those zombie games where they surround you and all chant or mumble together. Only these girls didn't want brains. "We love you!" they cried.
"Wow, who knew heroes were so popular here," muttered James, yanking me closer. I blushed.
The fangirls stopped, all of them staring at us. Then one cried, "Duncan will never love one of us! His heart belongs to another!"
They know about Casey? I blinked dumbly. The fangirls all stared at me and then said, "We accept that fact...sorta."
"We shall now go write fan fiction about you and your lover," added another.
"Erm..." I began. James put a finger to my lips. "Shhh, they're leaving." I aware that my blush was traveling. The girls were all quiet, watching.
"Before we leave, kiss," burst out one. The others all cheered and took up the cry. I pressed closer against James. He bit his lip and stared uneasily around.
"I can't see any weakness in their formation," he whispered. I could. I knew how to get rid of them though James will probably hate me later.
I focused on miserable thoughts and years sprung into my eyes. James looked taken back. "Dude, don't cry. It's okay," he whispered.
The girls were coming closer. I put Skylar on the floor and rubbed my eyes. James stared past me. "Do you have any idea how much bacteria my daughter's collecting?" he asked me testily.
The girls were starting to twitch in anticipation. I needed to get this over with quickly. I looked at James. He flicked his gaze to me. He's so gonna hate me after this.
Before he could look away again to see what Skylar was doing, I latched my face onto his. His eyes widened. I guess I got a little carried away.
The girls all roared and there were numerous phones pulled out. Seconds later, they all dispersed.
James shoved me. I didn't budge. He pushed me. Still didn't move. I closed my eyes. Moments later I felt a hand on my chest, trying to force me away. I broke away, mostly because I needed air.
He turned away. I picked up Skylar. She handed me a flower she yanked out of the ground.
He spun around, his eyes blazing. "What the bl**dy h*ll Duncan?! You bit me! You *bleeping* French kissed me! I didn't wanna be *bleeping* kissed by you! My lip's is bleeding and my mouth feels violated! You can't just frigging force-kiss people!"
I wilted slightly. I knew he was gonna hate me. He glared ice at me and stormed into his house. I followed.
Still no one home. I heard James slam a door. I went up to his room. His door was closed and locked. I knocked.
"James, I wanna come in," I called.
"Sleep in the frigging lounge!" he answered back. I stared at the door in disbelief. Skylar looked at me and put a thumb in her mouth.
"Fine," I muttered, turning and heading back downstairs.
The couch was lumpy when you laid down on it. I didn't feel like sleeping nor staying awake so I just laid there, watching Skylar play with various item on the coffee table.
