Two broken souls (Lams)

Thirty one

Alex lead Jefferson back to the place the crew where staying. Kenzie opens the door, confused to see Jefferson "Alex?" Alex looks over at Jefferson then back at Kenzie "Where is everyone Jefferson has some explaining." Kenzie nods then leads them to the living room where they where all sitting. Peggy looked over her shoulder "So? Jefferson." Jefferson gave a small smile "Hey." She looked around, everyone wore the same confused look. Alex looked at Jefferson so he began. Telling everyone the same story he told Alex with tears prickling his eyes. 

John shook his head "How do we know that hes just lying." Alex sighed "I know exactly how Thomas feels I can tell he's in real pain as he tells." John nods "OK..?" Hercules walks over to Jefferson "Boss." Jefferson smiles "Mulligan." Hercules sighed "What the fuck did you do to Lafayette that day?" Jefferson shook his head looking at the ground "Memory serum it get rid of every memory we want leaving the victim to only listen to the orders. Presidents orders. Also another reason I left. President can't do anything if I've died and the serum is gone." Hercules shakes his head "I should kill you right now but I'll allow you to survive." he sits back down next to Lafayette. 

Peggy stands up "So everything we have been doing has just been a waste." Jefferson nods "I sorry to say but yes. My brother was a strange one never wanting to just leave so he started a game." Peggy nods walking over to Kenzie and leaning on her "Baby can I talk to you outside." Kenzie shrugs "Sure." She looks at Alex "I guess lets start packing up and really get back to New York." Alex smiles and nods. 

Peggy and Kenzie step out into the hallway. Peggy leans her back against the wall "I didn't want to tell you anything but I feel as though you should know." Kenzie sighs "Okay?" Peggy starts going on about everything that happened with her father. Then she went on and on about the shit he would do to "fix" her. Before Peggy knew it she was crumpled on the ground crying with Kenzie pulling her into a hug. Kenzie stroked her hair "Listen Philip is never going to do anything ever again. Okay?" Peggy nods "Okay." When they walk back in everyone was ready to go. 

The drive home was slow and quiet with talking here and there. Peggy and Kenzie stopped at their place to grab a few random things before heading back to New York. They just now needed a break from everything and decided to go with Hercules and them. 

Two weeks later

Kenzie and Peggy stayed longer than they had planned but because of this learned they enjoyed New York more than Arizona. So while Hercules and everyone where helping them look at places John and Alex took a walk. 

Alex hugged Johns arm as they walked "John where are we going?" John sighed "I want to show you something also I just need to see it one more time." Alex nodded falling silent while watching the leaves fall. John stopped at a house the lights on, he looked down at Alex "I love you." Alex smiles "I love you too." John stepped away from Alex opening the door, Alex followed behind. 

John walked around the house as memories flashed through his mind. Every inch of this house was filled with hate and pain he looked up the stairs. Alex stood next to him grabbing his hand "John?" John snapped out of his stare "This is my fathers home." Alex looked around "Oh." John walked up the stairs then looking down the hall "Alex." Alex hummed in response "Go to the room at the end of the hall If someone is there I want you to run." Alex stared at him confused "Huh okay?" he walked into the room John pointed out and John made his way to his father room.

Knocking on the door was useless but he still did where a voice that sent chills down his back "What." John took a breath opening the door. Henry stared at John in shock "John." John could feel his body tumble as Henry stared at him. He wanted to curl in a ball and cry like a small child. Henry stood up walking to John confused to see John not backing off "John get the fuck out of here." He leaned over John "Get." John gulped holding back the urge to run "No." He snapped. Henry gave his same evil smiles "No." John nodded "No." Henry pulled his hand back bring it across Johns face, knocking him over "I said get boy." John stood up shaking "I see you haven't changed one bit. Your still the fucker you have always been." Henry shook his head "And I see your still the disgrace of a son." John sighed stepping forwards "I came here in hopes maybe there was something good in you." That ticked Henry off.

He grabbed Johns collar lifting him off the ground "John I'm giving you one more chance to run off." John wanted to so bad he wanted to tuck tail run but he knew it would only let his father win so he shook his head. Henry tossed him over onto the bedroom floor John stood up again watching as his father took his belt off one by one "Try me." John said with a smile knowing he was an idiot. Once Henry had the belt fully off he smiles "Okay." Then swinging the belt to hit John but John grabbed it. Henry shook his head "Dumb ass." John ripped the belt out of Henrys hand "What are you even trying to prove anymore. Moms dead because of neglect. The children where taken away. I got to so fucking bad that I was willing to let you kill me. You have nothing." henry glared at him staying silent. 

John took a breath "I don't understand. Why can't you be happy who hurt you who hurt you so bad you became a monster." Henry stayed quite so did John. Henry went to slap John but John swung the belt smacking him in the side. Henry grabbed his side "get out of my life get out of my house." John dropped the belt "Fine. but I need something first." John stowed out of the bedroom and to his old one where Alex sat on the floor nervously. 

Alex jumped up running to John "Oh my god babe." He ran his fingers over the hand print. John sighed "Come on." John grabbed Alex's hand pulling him into the basement. 

"My mother had a box and something like a letter she wanted me to find." John explained looking around until he found it. John opened to to see random stuff his Mom would collect over the years and reading the letter. 

Alex walked over "so?" Johns face was tear stained "There's  not much of an explanation to anything but we don't need one." Alex hugged John "Lets get out of her okay?" John nodded setting the box down but bring the letter "I think dad will need this more than me. He's a monster but I feel like there has to be some good."
