"Heeey Isabella..is it really you??" Jumped sister Fransisca, "You have changed so much dear, you look like a snack"" The car.. Is it your car??" asked sister Jenipher
"Yes, that is my car, I have come to take my mom to the city where I live because I got a house there.." said Isabella
"A house!!! In the city??.. Seriously you are taking your mother to the city!!" Said sister Jenipher
"Hey Jenipher, how many times do you want to confirm.." said mother, "Isabella my daughter, you are welcome home.. I am very happy to see you here, come at any time to visit us, we are very happy for you."
"Thank you mother, I'll be leaving now.." said Isabella
All this time, I was quiet looking at Isabella's car and how classy she looked. Her hair was long, her nails done, the heels on point and lastly that expensive looking short dress and a phone.. a big phone. I admired her so much, I felt so bad, jealous and down.. I felt like bursting into tears, even my food appetite disappeared. I stood up and went behind the house and sobbed, remembering how brother Abel deceived me that if you were born poor, you'll die poor and so many stuffs. I felt so bad that I wished to pluck out brother Abel's head..
"Olivaaa!!" It was brother Abel's voice calling me, but I ignored him
"Ooh! Oliva my dear sister, whats wrong?" He found me sitting idly, "why do you look so down and troubled?"
I ignored his question
"Come on Oliva, tell me what is wrong my princess.." he insisted
I looked at him with a bad eye and said.."It is you who lied to me that if you are born poor you'll die poor.. But look at Isabella, she is rich now even though she was poor.."
"Oooh! Really?" He wondered, " Isabella went to school, she is a university graduate and you can't compare her with us.. Just imagine, you are just a standard seven graduate, there is no money, how can you afford secondary school fee or college or university fee with this kind of life here?"
"But even Isabella's family is not rich.." I said angrily"
"Yes I know, but she got lucky and entered a competition where she won and went to school.. that company paid everything for her, you remember I was her classmate, but I did not get the chance since that competition was for females only.." He said
"Ooh.." I was a bit curious.. "So, can I join the competition by any chance? I want to study and be like her."
"Hahahaha.. You are not very smart and mother literally can never allow you to leave at that age not to mention your reckless mindset" he mocked me
I realized that mother was also a bit of a setback, I wanted to go and ask her for permission. I stood up and left brother Abel sitting there..
"Mamaaaaa!!!" I called
"Mamaaaaa!!!" I called again
"Heey, you'll burst my ear drums.. I am in the garden here.." mama replied to my loudness
"So, you want to help me with the weeding ee" she asked
"No mama.." I replied
"So what is it then, is everything okay? " she wondered
" I don't know, I think I want to talk to you about something" I saidShe took my hand softly and led me into our small old house, it was a relief that she accepted to talk to me...
