After we cleared everything with Mr. Nickson, he handed me the keys and the ownership documents.. the day started right away with cleaning the house
"Hahaha I see two sick women cleaning the huge house.." my mother teased
"We are not sick.. we are just not feeling well" I responded with a smile and a wink... did I just wink?
"When you feel exhausted please take a rest, I don't want to deal with a fainting big girl" she smiled
"Haha looking deep into the truth I'm actually healthier than you, so please rest when you feel exhausted because I don't want to deal with God knows what kind of trouble..." I replied and meant it
"I feel healthy dear.. I'm not falling sick any sooner" She assured
We continued with the cleaning and thank God we finished sooner than I expected. The house was well furnished with great furniture and pretty color, so we decided against changing anything in the perfect house.
We had everything in the house except food, so I left my mother resting in her room and went down the road to buy groceries and other kitchen stuffs. I hurried back home to prepare lunch for mom and within few minutes food was ready"Mommy.." I called her
"Moooooommy" I called her again but she didn't respond, this woman was a bed lover indeed so I had to practically follow her in the room and wake her up
"Mo..." My eyes went wide at the sight of my mother lying on the floor, "Lord.. what happened..!!" Panic flashed my entire body not knowing what to do.. the immediate thought was to call my mom's doctor and he cooperated by sending us an ambulance.
When we arrived at the hospital I was already exhausted, they took my mother to ICU and I followed the doctor to his office to complete all pre-surgery requirements. The doctor advised me to take some rest because the surgery was going to take a long time, I took the idea positively because after all I had left my medication at home.
The moment I arrived at home, my stomach was complaining a lot and the idea of taking lunch overshadowed all other plans. I went to the kitchen to fill up my plate with food. As I put the first spoon into my mouth, thoughts and worries about my mother not making it out alive from the surgery flooded my mind. I started imagining how lonely, bitter and sad my life would be without her, tears were already streaming down my face without my permission and I know what exactly was about to happen.. headache was next.. that headache that drives me insane and impatient. I tried to calm down but I could not stop crying no matter how hard I tried.. my tablets.. I had to look for them immediately so I rushed upstairs to look for them but my head was already pounding and within seconds it was worse.. I could not make it to my room.. I fell down on the stairs covering my ears and screaming like it was the end of the world, this pain was so intense..
"You'll die Oliva.. gather your strength because there's no one in the house to help you, do something" My subconscious insisted
In that great pain I was in, I had no other option than to roll down the stairs and grab my phone from the kitchen to contact the doctor or anyone.. just anyone who came to my mind.. I succeeded to reach the kitchen and had my phone in hand.. I struggled to scroll down the contact list which was not even long and saw Nickson's number..
"yes call Nickson" my subconscious advised and I followed it..
He answered on the second ring
"Hello Oliva"
"Ni..ck" I sreamed again in pain.." ple..a..se help .. hel.." I could not finish the sentence and fell unconscious
Nickson's POV
I hurried at Oliva's house very worried, thank God she left the door open. I found her lying unconscious on the floor, food spilled all over the place.. I was speechless and frightened maybe something worse happened to her or maybe I arrived late. I carried her to my car and rushed to the hospital.
When I arrived at the hospital, nurses helped to carry her out of the ambulance to ICU.. I was speechless the entire time not knowing what to do next.
After some time, the doctor came out of the room and called me to his office
"How long has she been in this situation?" he asked me with sorrows
"I don't know" I whispered
"She is in a critical condition.. do you know the kind of medication she is using?" he was curious
"I know nothing about this doctor.." I started feeling uneasy and sad for the poor girl
"She must be using very strong drugs as well as sleeping pills and it is so far causing more damage to her brain.." He explained slowly
"Oh..!" I looked for words to speak but I couldn't find them
"Who is she to you?" he asked
"A friend... I mean a business partner.. I don't know how to put it but it is kind of that way" I tried to make it clear but felt like I didn't make sense
"She will soon get out of ICU and you will be able to see her" he assured
"Thanks.." I responded
