The smell of Coffee that resides in the corner cafe was Aiya's third favorite smell.

Coffee's aroma held two meanings behind its smell. The warm, sweet side of it made the girl feel at home. Whatever home was. It warmed her, both when she smelled it and when she drank it.

Then there was the bitterness. For Aiya, the very first whiff of the Coffee smell was the most bitter. Sometimes it could be a huge knock in the face with how strong it could be. And every time the girl took her first trace of the smell, it reminded her that in order to get to something good, sometimes you'll have to deal with the bitterness first. That was something her brother always told her younger self.

Those two interpretations were the reason it was her third favorite.

Her second favorite being the rain, something she was currently experiencing. Sitting in said cafe, with her face gazing out the window, enjoying the rain, silently wishing she was outside to enjoy the smell of it. But her memory was enough to interpret it into a smell.

She strangly found piece in the wallow of her second favorite scent.

As for her most favorite, well it was something Aiya had a hard time admitting that she loved, let alone know how to describe it.

But to put it into simple words, it was the combination of musk and flowers of one Asahi Azumane.

The girl was holding onto said man's sweater, washed and cleaned after the man allowed her to borrow it to shield herself from the rain.

The same night met him, the same night she almost ended it all, the same night her version Volleyball player saved her.

Her small, fragile hands clenched onto his beige sweater, slightly anxious upon seeing the man she's been thinking about walk onto the cafe with his usual cool content expression.

She watched as he sniffed the air enjoying the smell of coffee, just as she did, before turning his head to the right searching for the girl who was constantly crowding his thoughts.

And once he laid his brown eyes on her; with her fuzzy hair, rosy cheeks, and fogged glasses due to the steam of her hot chocolate sitting on beyond her; his lips pulled in a smile.

The same smile that made the girls heart skip a beat.

She silently regretted inviting him out after he walked her home the other day, but when he asked if he could text her, and she responded with "I actually don't have a phone" Aiya felt as guilty as ever for somewhat disappointing him.

Shaking off her emotions, she raised her hand to wave him over, sighing when he nodded with excitement.

"Aiya! How are you?"

Still clutching his sweater, Aiya motioned for him to sit down.

"I've been good. Just enjoying the rain. How are you? Volleyball practice?"
