It was currently the next day, an hour before her classes started, and Aiya Akutosha still wasn't used to her new phone, nor the apps Asahi had set up on it.
Yes, Asahi paid for her phone, it didn't matter how many times or how loud she protested. He'd simply say that he wasn't going to use the money anyway.
A statement which Aiya understood too much.
Sighing, she looked down the the new screen before looking at her texting app to find a red "1" in the top corner.
"I guess that means I have a message?" She asked herself.
Clicking the green app she noticed it was a text from the only contact she had on her phone, Asahi.
The boy took it upon himself to put his number, name, and picture in the girl's contact to make it somewhat easier to find his text. Not realizing he would be the only contact in said girl's phone.
Asahi: Good morning Aiya! Practice starts at 4. Is that okay?
Aiya: Of course! I'll see you there.
She smiled at his politeness and wonder what he would've done or said if she said that time wasn't okay?
"He's too kind for his own good." She whispered, picking up her school bag and slinging it over her shoulder while walking out the door.
Heading to school. Hoping for something different like the other days.
However, for all her classes, it was uneventful. She sat in the back of each class, walked closest to the wall in the halls, ate lunch by herself, kept her thoughts to herself. Kept to herself altogether.
Sadly, an average day for her.
And normally she wouldn't mind but recently she's been thinking, and somewhat hoping, for a certain tall volleyball 3rd year to run into her after every class or lunch. Pushing away the fact that he was a 3rd year and it would be very unlikely.
Sighing, she closed her maths notes after hearing the teacher dismiss his students. That was her final class of the day so she took her time to pack her stuff and get herself adjusted.
Not wanting to get caught up in the after school traffic.
By the time she was set to head out, most of the students were cleared from the halls and she was good to walk freely at her own pace.
Except, she was meeting with that strange girl who ran the photography club today. And her, wanting to act somewhat professional, didn't want to arrive too late.
Once she had reached the room numbered 273, she noticed it cracked open and slightly loud music was coming from inside.
The song made her grin, for it was one of her favorites.
Tongues by The Frights.
It was a song her brother used to blast and now that she had a phone, she'd be able to listen to it every where she'd go. Another reason Aiya was glad that Asahi had got her the phone.
Aiya made sure to knock loudly enough for the girl inside to hear as she entered.
Which worked. The black haired girl spun around to the direction of the noise and smiled when she recognized Aiya.
"You're here for the photography club, right?"
She asked as she snatched a few papers from a nearby desk, stacking them neatly.
"Yeah..." Aiya faded with hesitation, did she really wanna join?
It wasn't that she doubted her photography skills. It was that she doubt her social skills heavily.
So far the only person she's been in contact with is Asahi, someone who makes her feel safe and comfortable. If she were to start getting social with other people, surely she'd become the flustered, clumsy, and shy girl she once was a few years ago.
It seemed Aiya's overthinking, once again, took too much of her time for her to back out. For, now, there were a thin stack of flyers and such in her hands, which were placed by the girl with the black hair.
"Okay! Just take a looks at those flyers, and sign the one on the bottom, and then you'll be ready to go!"
Aiya sighed, the girl was moving to fast for her.
And again, she didn't even introduce herself or even give Aiya the change to give her own name.
Just as Aiya was about to open her mouth to ask her name, the black haired girl seemed to have recognized the confusion on Aiya's adorable face.
"Oh! I'm so sorry. I'm going way to fast, I know, but there are so many things to do! I'm Emiko Ena. But just call me Emiko, or Em."
Aiya couldn't help but find Emiko's smile to be contagious. Grinning, Aiya nodded at the girl's pretty name.
"I'm Aiya Akutosha."
After that, Aiya sat at the table, that was besides Emiko's desk, reading through the papers and signing whatever was needed.
Emiko only had two extra cameras, besides her own, so she allowed Aiya to pick which ever she wanted.
It didn't take any more than 30 minutes for Emiko to tell Aiya which clubs and classes she would be assigned to take pictures of for the rest of the year.
But most importantly, tomorrow. It was picture day tomorrow so while each student got their own pictures taken, the ones in clubs and sports teams would get their pictures taken by the photography club.
"Not many clubs and teams wanted to be featured so you'll only be assigned to three different things. Your first one is the teachers and staff, pretty easy."
Em threw the brown haired girl a thumbs up smiling as she announced her second assignment.
"I thought it would be fun to have you take pictures of us too! Cause' were an official club now!"
Aiya couldn't help but giggle at her excitement.
"Okay, Emiko. What's the third assignment?"
She hoped it would be something eventful. The other two seemed easy enough but Aiya was scared that she'd get bored and back out of the club altogether.
If her third project was a more eventful club or team, Aiya would be satisfied.
And satisfied she was, once Emiko finally let out those three magic words.
