Potter's Sister

the vanishing glass

   *10 years later*

" Up. Get up." Aunt Petunia yelled as she knocks on the closet door repeatedly. "Now!" She yells smacking the door of the closet. Harry and Hope have to stay in the closet both sleeping on one bed, Harry at the top end and Hope at the bottom. Harry wakes up and turns on the light. He shakes his sister to wake up. As shes rubbing her eyes, Harry puts on his glasses with tape on the bridge, indicating that it was partly damaged. A large tubby boy, suddenly comes running down the stairs above the closet. He stops half-way down and goes back, jumping on the staircase.

"Wake up, cousins! We're going to the zoo!" Their cousin, Dudley. Harry and Hope look up to the join works of the stairs with small amounts of dusts falling on them. Dudley laughs and finally comes down the stairs and runs for the kitchen. Harry tries to come out of the closet, but Dudley pushes him back in. Hope helps her brother up, "He's so rude." She says and the twins leave the cabinet. 

Harry and Hope walk into the kitchen, Petunia looks at Hope unpleasantly, "Why don't you just cook the breakfast, and try not to burn anything." Petunia says. Hope looks up at her, "Yes, aunt Petunia." She says as she starts cooking breakfast for her dreadful family. "I want everything to be perfect for my Dudley's special day." Petunia says in a cheerful voice as she walks over to her son. 

Hope looks at Harry and pretends to gag. They both laugh silently, "Hurry up! Bring my coffee boy!" Uncle Vernon said to Harry as he was getting the cups ready for the coffee. Hope was struggling to put the food on the plates as her brother rushed out his words, "Yes, Uncle Vernon." "And hurry up with the food!" "Yes, sir." Hope said as she walked three plates over to the table. 

Petunia leads Dudley over to the family room, where there are a vast amount of presents. "Aren't they wonderful, darling?" She asked. Dudley turned towards his dad, "How many are there?" Vernon smiled, "Thirty-six. Counted 'em myself." Dudley's face drops, "thirty six? but last year i has thirty seven!!" He yells. Hope jumped at the yelling, "Err yes.. well some of them are quite bigger then last years." Vernon said. Hope and Harry look at each other with knowing looks then looked back at was happening in front of them. 

" I dont care how big they are!" Dudley yelled again. Petunia looked down at him with a smile, "Oh, now, now, now. This is what we're going to do, is that when we go out, we're going to buy you two new presents! How's that pumpkin?" she said sweetly to Dudley.

They all grabbed their coats and boots and walked out to the car. "This will be a lovely day at the zoo. I'm really looking forward to it." Petunia says happily. The twins then goes to get in the car, but their uncle Vernon stops them, pointing his keys at them. They look at each other than to their uncle. "I'm warning you two now. Any funny business, any at all, and you won't have any meals for a week. Get in." The twins glare at their uncle as he's getting in. They get in putting on their seat belts.

At the London Zoo, the family walks into the reptile house, Dudley amking everyone stop to look at the large boa. "Make it move." Dudley says as his hands are on the glass. Vernon taps the glass of the cage agressivley, "Move!" He ordered. Dudley taps the glass much harder, and Vernon nervously winces. "Move!" Dudley shouted one more time, Hope grabs Dudley's arm, "He's asleep." She said defending the poor snake. Dudley grabbed his arm away from Hope, "He's boring." He said as he and his parents walk away to another enclosure. Harry and Hope are left with the boa. 

Hope looks at the snake with sadness in her eyes, "I'm sorry about him. He doesn't understand what its like, lying there day after day, having people press their ugly faces in on you." Her brother said to the snake, the snake looks up at him then blinks, " Can he hear you?" Hope asks in shock. "I don't know should i ask it." Harry asked. Hope nodded aggresively. "Can you hear me?" Harry asks the snake, the snake nods. "That's brilliant." Hope says as she stares at the snake in amusement. "It's just.. I've never talked to a snake before. Do you... I mean... do you talk to people often?" Harry asks again. 

The snake shakes his head no, "You're from Burma, aren't you? Was it nice there, do you miss your family?" Harry says talking to the snake. The snake turns it head towards the direction of a sign which says, 'Bred in captivity' "I see. That's us as well." Harry says pointing towards him and Hope, "We never knew our parents either." Harry says to the snake, Hope was staring at the snake in awe. Dudley runs over to the glass, pushing Hope into Harry which sent them to the floor. 

"Mummy, dad, come here! You won't believe what the snake is doing!" Dudley says as he puts his hands on the glass with his back turned. Hope glares at him and suddenly, the glass disapears causing Dudley to fall forward, losing his balance. Dudley yells as he falls into the water. Harry and Hope start to snicker at what they watch happen. The snake slithers out of the exhibit, stopping in front of Harry and Hope. The snake thanks Hope, "Anytime." She said the snake slithers off the the exit of the zoo. 

All the people that were in the exhibit starts screaming and running. Dudley stands up to get out, but the glass is now back over the enclosure. Seeing that he is now trapped, he pounds the glass in panic. "Mum, Mummy!" Dudley yells in complete panic. Petunia notices him in the exhibit, "Ahhhhh!" She screams as she looks at Dudley. "Mum, help! Help me!" Dudley yells again. 

"My darling boy! How did you get in there?! How did you get in there? Dursley, oh, Dursley!" Petunia yelled again. Harry and Hope snickers again. Vernon notuces and glares down at them. Harry and Hope stop laughing as their faces drop.
