valentine | the old guard

a brief interlude...

hello everyone,

I know that it has only been two chapters since my last author note, but - as some of you may have noticed - I have been absent for a little while. almost a month, in fact.

I really wanted to address this sooner but really didn't know how. after publishing the 24th chapter in the book, I started to write the next. it took a long time - longer than usual - and when I re-read it, I just wasn't happy. it wasn't up to standard and it just didn't feel like me. out of respect to myself and love to you guys, I just couldn't find it in myself to post it.

it just felt wrong. forced, even.

so, I just wanted to tell you that I'm taking a break to try and get the magic back. the last thing I want to do is give you amazing, wonderful people content that's below standard. it would be a disservice to those of you who have been here since the beginning and stuck by me through the off weeks.

in slightly better news, I have started to write other things in my spare time - namely a fanfiction on the Netflix series Cursed. it's not much but, if you guys want to see it, I would be open to posting it as a way of bridging the gap between now and coming back to this Old Guard book.

please let me know how you'd feel about that,
