What's the difference of attraction and distraction? Well, maliban sa spelling, feeling ko connected ang dalawa. Attraction is a force that pull someone towards the other person or a power that draw two persons (if it's mutual) together... A personal charm perse. Distraction is a state being mentally deranged... inattention or mental confusion... *glee This is the great paradox! Di maikakaila, they are attracted and at the same time, distracted.

Enrique: Hey, who's that bugger in your head? Kanina ka pa tahimik.

Natawa si James.

James: How do you know it's a person?

Enrique: Because if it's not, I would see you there...in the middle of the dancefloor. I'm surprised you didn't entertain a single chick tonight. And it's just 1 am, the night is young. Why do you have to go so early?

Nasa lobby na sila ng favorite bar nila. Nagkita sina James at Enrique as usual pero what's not usual, maagang uuwi si James.

James: We have a board meeting tomorrow. My granny wanted me to be there.

Enrique looked at him in disbelief.

Enrique: Wow!

Yun lang ang nasabi ni Enrique. Just last week, walang kabalak balak si James na pumasok sa company ng lola nito. Now, he sounded like a real corporate man. There must be something  going on.

Natawa si James. He knew his friend. Hindi ito agad agad naniniwala.

James: I'll try to work for my grandma for 6 months or so then I'll ask her to invest in our resort.

Enrique: I knew it. You won't give up easily.

James: It's my core dream. Hard to give up on that. How about you? What's your plan?

Enrique: I'm goin home tomorrow. My dad will have a party on Sunday. Hey, if you want a homey party, you should come.

Natawa silang pareho. Enrique emphasized the word 'homey'... opposite to their wild, all out partying back in Germany and here.

James: Maybe next time. Just give my regards to your dad.

Enrique: You're still the man I know.. Can't get close to a homey party dude.

James rolled his eyes. Natawa na lang si Enrique.

Kinabukasan, maaga palang, nagising na si James. Hinanap nya ang kanyang lola. She was there sa open-sided lanai, reading a newspaper with a cup of coffee on the table.

James: Good morning grandma!

Helena: Good morning!

Simpleng bati ng kanyang lola at ipinagpatuloy ulit nito ang pagbabasa.

Nagsalin din ng kape sa baso ang binata at saka uminom. It's been a while na nakasabay nya ang lola nya in sitting sa lanai sa ganung oras. He's feeling great!!

James:  What's the news?

Helena: Same old stories... crimes, scandal, gossips... Heck news!

But she's not putting the newspaper down. Patuloy nya itong binabasa.

James: Yeah!  And we're fool to keep on reading a newspaper everyday.
