Game for two suggested by Mona continued through to middle term break of the last academic term before Kevin sits for his final year examination. For sometime, everyone had their eyes on this fake couple thinking they were really dating. What made it seem different was, this time, Kevin wasn't bluffing about Mona as he used to do during his previous dates. So everyone stayed perturbed and waiting to unfold the mystery behind these two's union bit nothing seemed to come out.
After sometime, Mona seemed to have no attention for Angelo who was worried about the sudden change of Mona until his friend in East Point, Malcolm, alerted him of what was happening. With pain, he also went in for another girl knowing it was over between him and Mona. During the middle term break which was the last break off school for Kevin before he sits for the final exam, they chill out a lot. Mona would visit Kevin, wear his hoodie and both have a long walk on the fields. They seem to depict they truly felt something for each other but none was ready to admit. No one would wish to be the loser here. They would go to the beach at night, visit the rotary park and also nice flowery gardens which intensified their connection.
Back from the break, all gazes still remained fixed on them and they looked more of lovers this time since they were almost all the time together. The senior year leavers games were on, the basketball game between the the senior years and junior years was lit. The game ended in favour of the senior years with Kevin emerging the MVP of the game. There's this surprising event on the court after the game which made the conclusion to be drawn on that Mona was the new girl of Kevin. She ran from the stands to hug Kevin and they kissed. Yes, they kissed before the numbers. Pictures of them circulated, Angelo saw these and knew it was truly over. Mona thought it was a game, only to forget about Angelo and be so attached to Kevin. They sat together during the school's awards night where Mona wore a beautiful black dress which had a glittery effect when light rays flashed on it: Kevin in his black suit.
All went good for sometime with none ready to speak out. It was the last week before the final year's examination commences. "I have something to tell you", they said in unison when they met earlier that Wednesday morning. "Can we talk after school then?", suggested Kevin. "Okay".
Mona was lost in thoughts cause though she really felt something for Kevin, she loved Angelo too and wasn't ready to lose him. She knew deep down she was playing Kevin. This was a hard time for her. Unfortunately, they couldn't meet after school since the senior year's were delayed a bit after school.
"Sorry we couldn't meet. Can we reschedule it to Saturday?", Kevin asked. "Yeah, that's better", replied Mona.
