"Can we meet at the car park early tomorrow morning?", a text Davida sent to Kevin on a Tuesday eve.
Kevin: I can pick you up if you wouldn't mind.
Davida: No, thank you. Let's meet there
Davida was already there when Kevin arrived. He tried to hug her but was pushed away. "Don't come closer", Davida warned. "I just felt saying this right to your face would be better. It's over. You've played with my feelings for too long and I can't take it anymore. Don't try coming to my class or reaching me. It is over and I mean it", she says while sobbing.
She leaves right after professing her last words with tears dripping from her eyes. Before Kevin could utter a word, she was already gone. Yaa Biamah, one of the nosy yentas in the school had her hidden camera rightly positioned on them, recorded every single thing that happened and posted it right away on her Instagram with the caption "It ended in tears".
Kevin found this bizarre. He was dejected for a while and perspires profusely. He trides towards the cafeteria as he's joined by Lois and Ann. All eyes on Kevin since in just five minutes, the sudden happening had trended. It didn't really bother him. He was flirting with Ann, Lois and Nicole who had just joined the race for Kevin. This news had reached other schools. Kevin and Davida were well-known couple(hyped) and actually high school's favourite couple, everyone says.
At recess, Kevin sits at the table he used to sit at with Davida and puts on a sullen face all in pretence. He runs his fingers through his hair several times just to make people think he's disappointed or heartbroken. He sits calmly. He turns to the nudge of Joel to find him with a melanin, Baaba. Kevin finds this strange. They take their seat next to his. Kevin in distraught asks of Michelle in a whisper to Joel's ears. Joel asks Baaba to kindly excuse them.
"We had a quarrel after the party and I broke up with her", Joel says. "Ouu, this party has really caused a lot". Kevin admits. "I heard you and Davida are no more", "Oh yeah", Kevin cuts him. "Are you worried? Every ladies date wish. Bad boys for life bro", Joel and Kevin laugh to that. "You have Baaba now and I have Lois, Ann and Nicole", Kevin smirks such utterance. "Damn you're my guy. I'm thinking of adding Adelaide", Joel adds. The siren cuts short their chat and they head to their classes. Kevin, Davida, Joel and Michelle were the hot trends for sometime.
Davida so down has been going through therapy and counselling for some days now. She is so broken, lost weight suddenly and had become so dull. Queen of runway but decides not to take part in the middle term fashion week. She wasn't present at the event at all. As time went by she recovered, psyched herself and had become normal. The only person age was with, was Berthanie.
Counsellors invited Kevin to interrogate him on the issue. This wasn't the first time a girl had come to their midst all because of being broken by Kevin. Broke hearts of girls which lead to them changing school just to get over the happening. "Is that cruelty or you have fun in doing that?", Mr. Bice asks Kevin. As cunning as he is, he says a whole lot(lies) making them believe they were mistakes and circumstances made him so. "Circumstances made you so. What do you mean by that?", a follow up question from Miss Ampofo. "It's personal. I can't share please. Can I leave now", he asks. "Mmm yeah but this shouldn't happen again son" last words of Mr. Bice.
*Kevin's POV*
Why all this? I might be heartless but this isn't my fault. She(Mom) made me heartless. Though I know I was playing with the feelings of Davida, I never intended hurting her so badly. Did I love her in anyway cause I feel bad in a way though there's much pretence. Why do I worry myself besides it's over. I've got Lois, Ann and Nicole with Cheryl being my smooch girl in the hood. Four for me now. Bad boys for life. It is what it is bruh. We move.
