“Where have you been?” the Lion demanded as I entered his office. I wasted my energy making him coffee this morning as it seemed to have given him more energy to attack me.

“I went to the …” I faltered; I can’t tell him where I’ve been, “I went to the washroom.”

“How long were you there?” he asked as I rounded my eyes at him in disbelief. Does he really want to know how long a girl needs time in the washroom, “Do you know how many times I’ve been trying to call you?”

“I was having a little stomach upset,” I lied as he looked at me, not sure whether to believe me or not. I shrugged my shoulders and sat on the chair in front of him, “What did you want to see me for. Sir.”

I added the sir as an afterthought lest he thinks I’m rude.

“I won’t be in the office tomorrow,” he said as I smiled and practically leapt for joy, in my mind, “Now I know you’d be overjoyed that I won’t be around, but I’ve got some task for you to complete. I’ve sent a draft to you through email and I want you to go through it and edit it, make it clearer and send it to Mr. Trent on my behalf. Before sending it, I want you to call me first and read it out to me – is that understood.”

“Yes, sir,” I said as he nodded his head. My mind is still thinking about Sammy’s issue so when the lion asked me if I had any question, I said,

“Well, this is not regarding about work,” I told him slowly as he looked at me interestedly, “It’s somewhat personal and I want to know some opinion and I don’t know who else to ask.”

“Okay, go ahead,” he said as I answered him, hoping to be discreet so that he doesn’t know I’m talking about Sammy.

“Say there’s this person,” I started, “Well, this person is sort of in love with this other person but this other person likes someone else who doesn’t actually like this person.”

“So how many persons are we talking about here?” he asked me as I took a deep breath and repeated.

“Here it goes again,” I continued, “Person A loves person B, but person B probably likes person C so what should person A do?”

“Is person A girl or a guy?” he asked.

                “Does it matter?”

“No, I’m just curious,” he said as I looked at him.

“Let’s just say that person is half a girl and half a guy,” I said as he rounded his eyes at me, “I meant because I don’t want to jeopardize this person’s identity.”

“Okay, so now what is your question again?”

“I want to know what can this person A do when person B doesn’t like… it … back,” I said, “It’s a sad thing, because they might be good for each other although I personally think person B is the vilest thing in the world, but person A likes that person anyway and if someone is happy with their choice, what can we say, right?”

“Who are these people that we’re talking about?” he asked curiously, “And where has person C gone?”

“Person B likes person C and doesn’t want to give chance to person A, so person A is devastated,” I replied, “Do you have any advice what I should do?”
