Natsu walked toward the hideout that belonged to the dark mages but never noticed that the dark mages had noticed him and surrounded him.

His thoughts were tumbling around and his emotions had blocked his senses, he suddenly fell to the ground as a sharp pain shot through his head. Natsu then yelped in pain as he looked up, black dots danced across his vision as he tried to identify the person standing before him.

The person before him started to land blows on him. As he tried to use his magic he realised that they were draining him of his magic.

He was about to fall under the folds of sleep that was trying to pull him away but he heard a savage snarl that belonged to his partner who had attacked the group of mages that had surrounded him. As he laid there all his senses were dull and blurred as he seen the mages running before Okami leapt on them, ripping out their throats. One particular dark mage ran to Natsu but never made it because of his throat that was ripped out by the she-wolf. Natsu felt the blood spray on his face before his vision went dark.

~Earlier with Okami~

Okami walked away from the group that stood dumbfounded as soon as her words had sunk in and looked at the retreating form of the she-wolf before they decided to head back to the guild.

As Okami was walking toward the direction the dragon slayer a walked in she noticed the heavy weight of negative emotions weighing her down, she was struggling to concentrate on her suroundings until a sharp pain shot through her head.

She quickly searched for Natsu's magic signature, once she found it she quickly ran over there.

As she got to the scene her blood went cold seeing her old masters guildmates, but her blood began to boil in anger when she seen Natsu on the ground surrounded by them and worry struck her when she seen the wound on the back of his head bleeding.

With a savage snarl she leapt at the closes dark mage and ripped out his throat then leapt to the next, as her jaws closed on the mage's neck there was a sickening crunch a blood splirted into her mouth as he let out a scream that was more like gurgling water since his blood was coming out of his mouth, she then continued onto the next mage continuing her killing spree and all rational thoughts were pushed to the back of her head since her anger for the mages that had harmed Natsu was going out of control and her magic was building up.

There was still a handful of dark mages left so she built up her magic and released a bark that cut the mages up and then turned to see more of them trying to gang up on her. She then concentrated some magic into her mouth as the mages came closer then she let the magic condensed balls blast out causing their bodies to burst on contact due to the concentration it took. She then back flipped over a mage that tried to hit her with a spell from behind her, she quickly turned in the air to shoot another magic ball of hers that was bigger since it was a mage standing in front of their guildhall. She shot it towards the mages who couldn't move out of the way in time and was incinerated on contact but the ball didn't stop there, it kept going and hit the dark guildhall that was behind some trees not so far away.

She turned around to see mage running toward Natsu's unresponsive form. She ran to him, leaping at the mage while biting into his uncovered throat. As she bit down some blood squirted out and landed on Natsu's face. She let the mage go and turned to look at Natsu only to see his eyes closed, with worry evident in her face she went over to him and started to inspect him for any kind of curse spell or anything the mages might have done to him.

Once she seen he only had some cuts and bruises and the wound on his head she began to clean his wounds with her tongue, with gentle yet firm strokes of her tongue she cleaned the blood off his head injury, she then murmured a sorry as she blew a breath on the wound and whispered "secret art of the wolf, fiery healing breath." As soon as she said that she blew out a breath on the wound which was healing and glowed like it was burning. When she was done she started to clean his hair which had turned a shade darker since the blood was on it.

Later when the dragon slayer started to awaken feeling a warm feeling on the back of his head that was almost ticklish. "What happened?" Natsu asked as he got up a bit quickly, only to wince in pain when Okami wacked the back of his head then proceeded to scold the dragon slayer like a little kid who got in trouble with his mother. "Idiot don't go reopening your wounds on me! Do you know how long that took to heal it where there would'nt be a scar there? Jeez that took a long time and you know how I hate to sit around because I'm not patient enough." She huffed in a motherly way. The dragon slayer then looked around after the pain in his head subsided to see that they were at the cave they had been staying at, when he remembered the job he quickly turned to Okami, "You finished the job right?", Okami looked at him. "Of course I did look at our jewel pile it got a bit bigger. Natsu turned to the pile to see it had indeed gotten bigger, "No kidding just a few more jobs then we can get to build our own." "Castle!" "Fort!" They both exclaimed at the same time before looking at each other blinking. "I say we build both." Okami offered as Natsu nooded in excitement at her offered idea. "Yea, then we can both rule this hideout we have." Okami then bursted out laughing as Natsu started to roll on the ground laughing as well at the idea. "Do you want to go to the guild tomorrow?" Natsu asked Okami as she looked at him bewildered, "Are you sure Natsu? I mean I ain't a Fairy Tail member and I don't think they would enjoy the idea of my presence there either." Okami looked at the ground ashamed that she might ruin her only companion's happiness. Natsu patted her head as she quickly looked up, "Don't worry, they won't do anything besides I'll be there." He then gave her his trademark grin. She looked up and gave her own wolf-like smile showing her dangerously sharp canines that gleamed in the light.

"We should go to sleep now, neh Natsu." Okami said as she curled up beside the dragon slayer, she stared at the fire that was in the cave although Natsu's body heat kept them both warm throughout the night, the dragon slayer had insisted stating that he would be able to have a late night snack if he woke up. The wolf was staring at the fire as it danced remembering her past life in which she was trying to erase but never was able to, she remembered her childhood friend and how they got seperated, she was then pulled to reality when she heard the soft snores of the fire mage beside her before she closed her eyes and slipped into a dream that would bother her for some time.
