Part 1.9

y/n pov

I followed Tae to his chambers. He looked at me with apologetic eyes, turning his head down. 

    'I am really sorry' he shook his head 'no those words are not even enough.'

    'It's just.. I looked for her for a year only to find out now that she had been enjoying wealth and got married?' 'It made me so angry and in no way was I supposed to take that out on you. but that is what happened and I hope you can forgive me' to my surprise his eyes teared up.

It was the first time I saw him this fragile, so apologetic. 

I walked his way putting my arms around him, because in all honesty it broke my heart to see him like that. I couldn't imagine what he was going through with this new information about Nari.

    'I forgive you, but if you ever lay your hands on me again I will never forgive you' I said. 

He pulled me closer for a hug and we stood there for some time like that.

We finally arrived in Yeosu, it was the time to say goodbye to Min-ji. I already saw that Jungkook was having a hard time with it.

I hugged Min-Ji 'thank you for everything. '

She smiled at me 'good luck, and also with my brother. '

I laughed at her remark 'thank.' Min-ji walked away from us going into town. Taehyung put his hand in mine. 

   'Let's walk around together before going back' he suggested. 

    'Would that be okay?' I asked, in a way I was excited to do so because being at sea all the time was also increasing my need for the land and Yeosu was civilized unlike Jeju.

We were walking around like a couple, or it felt like that and I smiled  'What's on your mind' Taehyung softly asked. 

    'I don't know it's just I am happy I guess' I looked at him and a smile also appeared on his face.

 Then I saw a man in the distance, he seemed so familiar. I squeezed my eyes to see it better and realized I recognized him. 

I knew him. 

Hoseok

    'Tae we have to go now!' I said anxious pulling his arm but as soon as I did six men surrounded us. 

   'Y/n, don't say anything, promise me' Taehyung whispered and I looked at him confused. 

Jin appeared, his eyes wide in relief, he ran over and hugged me. 

     'Y/n, I finally found you'

He looked at Taehyung  'Take this pirate and throw him in the dungeon.'

Two men hit Taehyung hard and he fell towards the ground grunting of the pain.

   'No please' I said but Taehyung shook his head at me, indicating I shouldn't say anything as he had requested before. I went silent and they took him and carried him off. 

I didn't know what to do, if they would find out I was "friendly" with pirates, or stick up for them it's the gallows for me as well. Even Jin couldn't save me from that.

Jin hugged me again 'I was so worried about you, you must have been so terrified.'

We all returned to Busan, where I used to live. Taehyung was also transported that way as there were better holding facilities there. Two days passed and I became impatient to see him, anxious for what was coming.

 When I arrived in our house Felix was waiting for me, when I saw him I ran to him hugging him.

   'How are you alive' I gasped and a tear rolled down my cheek. I never expected to see him again. 

He wiped the tear from my face  'We were able to sail to a small deserted island. Only four of us survived. We spent weeks at the island until one of the navy ships found us.'

   'That sounds horrible.'

    'It was'

He then put his hands on my shoulders, looking into my eyes  'What about you?'

   'I uh it wasn't horrible.'

He looked at me confused   'not horrible?'

  'No it's just' I stopped and took a deep breath. 

    'I am sorry, I am just tired. '

He caressed my face. 

    'I can imagine, I will leave so you can get some rest.'

I gave him a hug and went to my room

Taehyung pov

I was thrown in one of the cells, they even put on shackles. A bit overdoing it in my opinion.

Jin walked in with his men

   'I have waited so long to say these words' he started and then added

    'Kim Taehyung, you will be hanged till death for piracy. your appointment with the gallows will be tomorrow'

Jin said it formally but I noticed the satisfaction in his voice, he was about to walk away. 

   'Could you tell me something?' I asked. 

He stopped looking back at me. 

   'Nari'  Iet out. 

Jin came closer smiling  'you hated me all this time for something I did not do, Nari was alive all this time. She just choose not to be with you as a pirate but for a righteous life'...'it was her who found me and proposed a deal, you and your ship for her freedom.'

The weird thing was that since I met y/n I was distancing from Nari and although the betrayal angered me, y/n was occupying my mind.

   'Jin' I said again.

He turned his head 'tell y/n I am sorry... about everything. '

Jin chuckled 'you're sorry?

He stepped closer. 

    'Wait' there was this confusion in his voice. He scanned my face and there was a shock on his face. 

   'You love her'

As I didn't reply he scoffed 'y/n will never fall for a criminal like you, besides it doesn't matter because tomorrow you will be dead and gone'

y/n pov

I was back in my old room, it was strange. I felt out of place like this wasn't my home anymore. I went through my things, the books, the music sheets.

Bach

I thought about Taehyung and sighed. There was a knock on the door. 

   'Come in.'

    'y/n' Jin walked in. 

     'hey brother.'

     'How are you feeling?'

     'I am fine' 'how did you find me?'

     'We got an anonymous tip that Taehyung would be in Yeosu that day, we followed up on it and it appeared to be true.'

I smiled faintly 'I am glad.'

That was a lie, I wasn't glad not at all.

    'I am sorry you had to live with those animals for so long. you must have been so scared'

He hugged me again. 

    'hmm' I said as if I agreed. 

    'But don't worry, their captain has been captured and he will be hanged tomorrow.'
