WHEN THEY GOT TO hogsmeade it was night time. harlow, harry, and ron were now all dressed in their proper hogwarts attire, this being their robe.
"i probably look ridiculous right now" harlow said, trying to adjust her robe to make it look flattering.
"you look amazing, i mean- not amazing. fine, you look fine" ron stuttered out, his face now a bright red.
harmonie rolled her eyes "have you never talked to a girl before?"
although ron had in fact talked to a girl before, he was always nervous around them. he always tended to embarrass himself one way or another.
"yes i have-" ron was cut off by hagrid. hagrid was still dressed in what he was wearing when the potters previously saw him, the only thing different was now he was holding a lantern"
"right, then! first years! this way, please! come on, now, don't be shy! come on now, hurry up!" hagrid yelled.
"can we say hi to hagrid?" harlow asked her brother.
"sure," he responded.
the four of them all walked up to hagrid and greeted him before getting on the boats. there was a thin layer of fog on the water that night, which made them need lanterns to see.
only moments later, the boats were approaching a ginormous castle. the first years all whispered to each other in amazement.
hogwarts was something out of a painting. it's beauty was unparalleled to that of anything harlow had ever seen before. it was surrounded by water on all sides, with a bridge leading to the mainland. it was huge, with towers that were as tall as the eye could see.
"wicked" ron beamed.
once the boats docked and all of the first years got off, hagrid took them to the bottom of the stairs that led up to the entrance. there was a middle aged woman standing at the top of them
"welcome to hogwarts. i'm professor mcgonagall. now, in a few moments, you will pass through these doors and join your classmates. but before you can take your seats, you must be sorted into your houses. they are gryffindor, hufflepuff, ravenclaw, and slytherin. now while you're here, your house will be like your family. your triumphs will earn you house points. any rule breaking, and you will lose points. at the end of the year, the house with the most points is awarded the house cup." the woman, who they just found out was professor mcgonagall explained.
all of the sudden, a brunette boy spotted his pet toad. "trevor!" the boy called and picked up his toad. he looked up at mcgonagall and stuttered out an apology before going back to his original position.
