NOVEMBER WENT, JUST AS soon as it came, and christmas was fast approaching. it was a mid-decembernight, and snow was coming down hard on hogwarts. the lake had frozen over and there was a fire in the hufflepuff common room's fireplace. in front of the fire place, sat cedric diggory and harlow potter, after a long day of classes.
"do you think the blizzard is gonna pass anytime soon?" harlow asked, her legs laid on cedrics lap.
over the course of the last month, the two of them had gotten considerable closer. the pair had spent almost everyday together since the start of quidditch season. harlow was always there for him when he won his quidditch games and on the rare occasion that he lost one.
"i don't know" he shrugged, cedric moved her legs off of his lap.
"rude." harlow furrowed her eyebrows.
"my apologies," cedric laughed.
"are you going home for the holidays?" harlow asked.
"no, i was gonna but my father decided it was best for me to stay here,"
"is that so?" she inquired.
"yeah, what about you?"
harlow laughed, "no, of course not. i'm not allowed back home."
cedric didn't know much about harlow's home life, besides what was said through rumors. he dared not ask either, he knew she was raised by muggles, but that was about all.
"so i guess we'll both be here," cedric smiled.
"i guess so." harlow grinned.

once the holiday's had began, hogwarts was quiet. most students had gone home, including pansy, that meant that harlow had her room all to herself. those who remained at hogwarts, were excited. it was finally christmas eve.
harlow walked through the doors of the great hall, it was decked out in christmas decorations. there was one big christmas tree in the center of the great hall, right behind dumbledore's chair.
at one of the tables, harlow saw harry and ron playing chess. she approached ron and her brother, and sat down next to them. hermione had filled her in on the search to find out information about a man named nicholas flamel. hermione told harlow about how hagrid accidentally let flamel's name slip out of his mouth when they talked to him after the quidditch game.
"where's hermione?" she asked.
"hello to you too, harlow" harry said, moving his chess piece.
