Prologue

Will's POV

Will knew Mike was following him up his basement stairs but he didn't care. He didn't want anything to do with Mike right now. Mike just cared about El and didn't seem to care about Will at all since El came back last year. Lucas and Mike didn't care that his childhood was taken away since he got taken into a place with a monster that was looking to kill him and in the same place where he could hardly breathe because of the toxicity in the air. They don't care that Will has suffered from PTSD and still is. They should understand why he wants to play DND. They should be there for him. But instead they just care about 'love' and stupid girlfriends.

Will doesn't hate El, but sometimes he just wants her dead. She came out from nowhere and suddenly Mike is 'so in love' with her.

The truth was, Will was hurt. He likes mike, a lot and he started thinking that maybe Mike might like him back since Mike did say they would go 'crazy together'. Mike has forgot about that, he's just 'crazy' for El now. Will thought maybe he might like him. But he was wrong since all he does is talk about El. Make out with El. Late for everything and has to leave party meetings early because of El. It's obvious he likes her and Will is so mad at himself for thinking he had a chance with Mike.

Will was packing him his things and ready to leave.
"Will come on, you can't leave it's raining" Will heard Mike say, Will rolled his eyes slightly and just ignored him.
"Listen I said I was sorry alright?" He was facing Will now but Will was not going to face  him back. "It's a cool campaign, it's really cool. We're just not in the mood right now" Mike said trying to make Will feel better. Will couldn't stand it. Will faced Mike angrily.
"Yeah Mike! That's the problem! You guys are never in the mood anymore!" Will snapped. "Your ruining our party!"
"That's not true!" Mike yelled trying to defend himself.
"Really?! Where's Dustin right now?" Will replied angrily back. Mike was dumbfounded.
"See, you don't know! You don't even care and obviously he doesn't either and I don't blame him! Your destroying everything and for what?! So you can swap spit with some stupid girl!?" Will knew El saved him and that she wasn't stupid. Will just got so angry in this moment because she was causing this by what he can see in his eyes right now.

"El's not stupid!" Mike yelled defending El. "It's not my fault you don't like girls!!"

Will was so taken aback, he was just shocked. Did Mike know that he was gay and liked him? Will had so many questions going through his head. Will felt like crying. Will was really hurt. Did Mike just think like all the bully's at school? Did he hate him because he was a fag just like his dad has said? Mike really said that. Just to defend his girlfriend.
When Mike realised what he just said he regretted saying it a lot. "listen I'm not trying to be a jerk okay?" Mike said softly

Will couldn't take it. "Really?!" Will said on the verge of tears. "Because Yeah Micheal! It is your fault I don't like girls! And that's the problem!!"

It was silent.
No one was talking.
Mike was really shocked by what he just heard. "W-Wait what?" Mike asked in disbelief.
Will realised what he just said. Shoot Will thought. Why did he just say that?

"J-Just forget about it, forget about what I just said Mike please. I-I've gotta go..." Will got in his bike and starts riding out into the pouring rain. He heard mike calling after him while he was riding away but Will didn't care.

Why did Will say that? He just exposed to Mike that he had a crush on him, Mike probably hated him. He started crying and started riding to Castle Byers. He was so stupid for thinking Mike would like him back.

So so stupid Will thought as he ran into Castle Byers.

Mike's POV

It's been a bit of time since Mike and Will had their fight and now The Byers and El were moving out of Hawkins. Will and Mike just had a moment talking about DND and that Will wouldn't be joining another party which Mike was really happy about. He was going to miss Will so much. Mike couldn't get the courage to apologise but Will seemed to forgive him...plus Mike was still very confused about how Will said that it was his fault he didn't like girls but again was to scared to ask what Will meant when he said that..

Right now Mike was with El. She started walking away from him and he shook his head. Until she said something.
"Mike?" El asked.
Mike turned around casually to face her "yeah?"
She started fiddling with her hands "Uh remember that day...at the cabin, you were talking to Max."
"Uhh I don't think I follow..." Mike said, he was trying to forget about what he said and he didn't want El to know but it seemed like she did Just don't play along Mike thought.
"You talked about y-your feelings..your heart." El said, yep she definitely knows Mike thought. "Oh-Oh yeah right, man that was so long ago, it was just the moment stuff and uh and we were arguing and uh I don't really remember uh what-what did I say exactly?"
"Mike.." El said, she started walking closer to Mike with an admiring look in her eyes. Mike was just looking at her with confusion. She put a hand on Mike's cheek and stayed there for a few seconds and looked at him. Mike knew she was about to kiss him or something, he could tell.
"I love you too" she suddenly said with an admiring smile on her. Mike just looked at her in shock. She started kissing him, pecking him on the lips about 3 times.
Mike didn't feel it. His eyes were open wide and he wasn't kissing back. He didn't know why. He just didn't feel like kissing her...
She pulled away smiling and started walking away with a smile on her face.
Mike was just standing there in shock and confusion. Why didn't he want to kiss her back? He should be happy right? His girlfriend loves him back! Why isn't he happy?

Suddenly Mikes thoughts got taken away from El. His thoughts get taken to Will. His best friend. That's when Mike realised...

Mike didn't love El. He has loved Will this whole time...
