I felt shame course through me and I covered my face with my arms in surrender as my attempts to pull down my shirt proved futile. I was almost naked from the waist up, and fumbling with the comforter to cover my chest, I tried to stand up a second time but Eisuke was strong, holding me down with just one hand clamped on my shoulder.
I still couldn't believe he was there, my throat parched and dry I couldn't voice out a protest, and when I felt his fingers trace the fresh wounds, pressing on my skin as he did so, I tried hard not to wince but failed.
"Why didn't you tell us?!" he thundered.
I shook my head, not knowing what to say.
"He did this to you?" He asked in a forceful tone, and dumbfounded I nodded, my eyes rimming with tears. "Rino's father?"
The mention of the name snapped my control until the tears I've been trying so hard to hold in broke out, and soon I was sobbing uncontrollably, Rino's betrayal overwhelming me. Eisuke merely let me cry it out, until minutes later he asked in a gentler voice, "What else?"
"S-Sir?" I asked. What did he mean, what else?
                              ***
Eisuke didn't press on, closing his mind on the despicable image flashing there. He knew there was no one at the penthouse but the two of them, and cursing to himself, he went to the bathroom and fetched from the cabinet the medicine kit.
She protested when he again pulled her shirt up.
"Don't be silly. I have no interest in you that way."
Satine whimpered in resignation as Eisuke sat down next to her and made her turn her back on him.
She could see him from the mirror, composed like he always is, though his brows were furrowed as he applied what looked like an antiseptic, and the sting was enough to bring tears to her eyes.
Eisuke was nowhere near calm though. The cuts were infected, her back a giant big bruise, the purplish color so sickening he was tempted to bring her to a hospital. But he knew that wouldn't be wise, and they might find themselves in more scandal than he was accustomed to, so instead he tried to be as gentle as he could manage, knowing the girl was trying hard not to cry out in pain.
                              "Don't act so brave."
                              The girl stiffened a little.
"I know it hurts. But crying would be useless."
                              "I don't... don't cry, Sir."
He smirked as he opened a tube of ointment, peering down at her face. "Those aren't tears then?"
                              "N-No."
When he started putting ointment on the cuts, the girl arched her back in shock.
"Stay still or we'll be at it all night."
He felt her sigh, the rigid body slowly relaxing as if in surrender, and instead she hid her head deeper in the covers she was clutching so hard. Though anger was rising within him at the sight of such cruelty, he calmed himself and focused on the task infront of him.
The cuts were long and deep.
                              It must've hurt so bad.
Eisuke exhaled and looked down at the kit when he finished, which seemed like an agonizingly long time for an embarrassed Satine.
"It says here to let it dry before we apply this other one," he said sternly, inspecting another tube and reading the instruction on the back. "Thirty minutes after the first one."
