"Coffee's taking forever."

I tensed at the scornful tone but I ignored it, concentrating on making him a cup just the way he liked it. Miss Honey did say to put in a lot of milk but how much exactly? Mentally I took note to bring in a measuring cup and have Miss Honey pour from it the next time.

"Honey left already for Hongkong?" Eisuke asked from the end of the table, his tablet on one hand and cellphone on the other, his presence so commanding my palms were sweating in apprehension as I handed over a cup.

"They did, Sir. Asked me to give you their regards..." I waited as he took a sip, hoping with all of my being that I did it right.

He winced. "Terrible."

I bit my lip chagrined, and blushing I hurried to make another one.

"Don't bother," he said stopping me. "Do better tomorrow."

"Yes, Sir," I said in relief. The silence stretched between us though that after a while I asked tentatively, "Sir, I can't helping thinking. Will they be gone long, for it sure felt like that when she bid me good bye."

"They'll be back in a few days. Honey has a flair for the dramatics, that's all."

"She gave me an ipad, sir. And Mr. Soryu..."

"You mean Mr. Oh."

"I like his name better." When Eisuke looked up at me I blushed. "Umm, anyway, Mr. Soryu gave me this..." I produced a wad of bills from my pocket, and couldn't keep the wide grin off my face.

"You like money," Eisuke sneered.

"Who doesn't?" I blushed again at my cheeky reply, and to hide my embarrassment I pushed on his side a small wrapped box. "By the way Sir, for you."

Eisuke said nothing.

"Umm, thank you for the other night?"

Eisuke ignored the box. "It was nothing."

"Still... I am grateful. It's so wonderful to be here. Miss Honey is divine and the others have been so considerate... Im so glad I was brought to you... I shudder to think otherwise." My voice trailed off, remembering how Eisuke found me in the midst of a bad dream that night, and though I tried hard not to think about it, I couldn't get Rino out of my head, for in my dreams it was he and not his father, who had given me these lashes in my back.

Miraculously, my nightmares had stopped since Eisuke came to me that night and I wanted to show him how grateful I am.

"Stop thinking about it. So what is it?" He asked, eyes still glued to his tablet.

Huh.

"Open it."

"Oh." I hastily ripped the box which took me an hour to wrap, saying, "I know you have hundreds of ties, sir. But i just couldnt resist. I saw this once when you had me buy a shawl for Miss Honey and I couldn't get this out of my head."

Eisuke gave the cloth a glance. "Hmm."

"Do you like it sir?"

"Flashy."

"Is it?" Disappointment filled me that my face fell, but I know I could get him to wear it that I immediately brightened. "Oh, can I go through your closet sir? I will pick out the clothes that will best complement this tie."

"The tie should complement the clothes. Not the other way around."

"You know what I mean."

"Go ahead."
