Nick.
Dang it! I am supposed to hook up with Ashanti, a Haitian girl today, I lost track of time throughout today. Sundays are my chilling days. I get to go to club with my guys and come back dead ass drunk in the evenings. Michelle and Tiffany always make sure I do half of the chores before going out, plus my homework too. At least, I still get to keep my little secret within me and live a normal and happy life without them bugging me. Mom came back from Vermont few days ago. She hasn't been in anyone's face since, lying in bed all day, doing nothing but read a bible or watch the news.
I text my party buddy, Alan, he gives me updates about parties that his cousin, Brandon organizes and we all show up. Brandon is a guy I haven't really had a conversation with because he's always busy with one deal or the other. Alan stays with him for few days then heads back to his brothers. They have no idea that he parties day and night. Will drives to my house looking all fresh and neat in his camo pants and black polo. I dressed in the most rugged way I could, looking like Zayn Malik from one direction.
"Looking sharp, Willy." I inspect him from head to toe. "Dude, came two minutes late. Where were you?" I say, taking my jacket from the hanger close to the door. He sighs, licking his lower lip.
"Thanks. Bringing my looks to the party." He beams. "And since when did you care about time? Bad boys don't, last time I remember." He replies, heading inside my house to take something. He comes out with two bottles of beer and hands me one.
"Bro, I'm not a bad boy, I'm a good boy. Good. You went in to take my stuff without telling me, rude." I laugh and take a gulp.
"Remember, we are brothers. Brothers share everything, am I right?" He looks at me in the eye, I nod. "Let's head to that party and see some girls." We walk to the his car and I head to the back seat.
"Bro, I'm not your damn driver. Get your ass to my right hand side." He frowns, I laugh and clutch my chest to stop laughing.
"Relax, man, I wanted to only see your reaction. Turns out that you fit to be a driver, after-all." I shoot a mockery smirk and walk to the front. He scowls and starts the car, then we drive off.
The road is not as packed as it is on regular days, Sundays are not the days were people roam around, everywhere is calm and subtle. Alan texts us the address and tells me that Beric and Bryce are in the party chilling for us. A bunch of girls from school text me; some that I've already aired countless times, random girls that got my number from social media, those who can't seem to live me alone and the special ones, Friday night enjoyment with me. I turn on my AirPods and vibe to some music as Will drives. A tap on my shoulder alerts me and I pause my song and turn to Will.
"What's up? Are we close there yet?" I ask.
"Not yet, ten minutes. But first, I want to tell you something." He shifts his gaze to me and the road at the same time. I gulp. Haven't seen Will look this scared or this way since I've known him.
"Sure, tell me. Brothers, am I right?" I laugh lightly and place my phone in my jacket pocket. Whatever it is must be serious for him to want to tell me.
"Promise you'll tell no one, for now." He parks and turns off the engine. I think before speaking.
"Will, what did you do? Are you in trouble? Did you lose someone? What is going on? Is your mom okay? Wh-"
He cuts me off with a slight smile. "I know you care about me but, can you shut up and let me speak for a moment?" I nod and allow him continue. "It's about this girl I got into a relationship a year and a half ago,"
"You mean, Bella that lives in Indiana that you have a long distance relationship with?" I ask and he smiles briefly.
Bella and Will have been the best couple I have seen so far. They both fit, except for the fact that she had to move to Indiana to spend time with her mom for two years. They've been apart and I'm starting to feel that the relationship might be getting sour.
