Reimbursement

A/N: This piece might be a bit distressing. Do not read if you want to preserve your peace of mind.

He

Plucked all the flowers from a garden

Not his garden.

Or the gardener's.

It was hers.

Ravaged the fence and

Everything within that it failed to guard.

He did.

They did.

Now punish him (body or soul ?)

(Do we assume he has both?)

His rough, callous hands,

Sever them into two.

Will it hurt you ?

The blood that drips is useless,

As it was when veins housed it cold.

I will sigh to justice being served,

But it won't revive her soul.

What will ?

The soil stays fertile.

Crimson Bougainville will bloom,

Once again sometime.

Shy smiles like Arctic sunrise,

Tender touch of October rain,

Warm embrace of balmy winds,

(I hope) We will see her again.

But today the world's just a bit colder,

As Earth twirls some more hesistant,

A garden remains barren,

And the moonlight stagnant.

I apologize for adding this uncomfortable bit of information to my already distressing piece. But I needed to add it because it would be unfair to write about Her and not mention the brutal truth behind it.

It's not the first time, won't be the last.
Writing about it won't change a single thing. But I had to. I couldn't sleep after reading the news.

What angers me the most is nothing will bring her back. (whatever fitting punishment is announced, nothing can reimburse her life)
There's so much more about a life.
A person.
Dreams and love and hope.
She must have harboured for her future.
A life snatched away with utmost cruelty.
Quiet and unseen.
Gone.

May her soul rest in peace. And i pray that her family finds strength through this.

This will happen again maybe a couple of years later, or as it seems may be even sooner, and I will again write about it, petitions will be filed, candle march and protests, a rapist might even get hung, another name that follows Nirbhaya.

I am sorry, I thought of ending this on a positive note(like saying I hope things get better, that man learns, that sun will shine again and bs, but honestly I have never felt this hopeless about humanity.

Peace.
