Naruto couldn't stop cringing whenever he thought of breaking down into tears and crying like a toddler in front of Kakashi. And worse of all was that he barely knew the man....he had just made a complete fool of himself infront of a man he barely knows!
"Fan-fucking-tastic: he groans putting on an orange and black stripped sweater. He'd blame the rain but, that was stupid. He'll have to make sure not to repeat that mistake he made.
Dreaming about his past, when it so happens to be raining, made him feel weak and emotional.
He was surprised when Kakashi didn't push him away but held him close and whispered in his ear that it was okay to cry. That he'll be his pillar until he's okay again.
Such a stupidly kind man. Naruto could easily take advantage of the man's kindness and rob him blind.
But why couldn't he?
"Oi, Naruto!" Kakashi snaps his fingers infront of Naruto's face, forcing the teenager back to reality. "Wh-what? Oh, sorry.." Naruto apologised, scratching the back of his head awkwardly.
Kakashi sighed. Ever since his emotional breakdown the other day, the kid has been spacing out a lot and, even distanced himself. So he had ring up Tsunade to ask for advice.
"Take him outside" was Tsunade's impatiente reply over the phone."Take him outside, to an amusement park or the museum, wherever it is, kids like to go these days...distract him, make him happy"
So Kakashi decided to bring Naruto to the mall. The amusement park in the city was an hour drive away from where they lived and Kakashi knew Naruto would be bored at a museum.
"We're going to watch a movie at the cinema, wear something warm" Kakashi says before leaving the boy alone in his room. Huh, it was only then did Kakashi realized he's been calling the guest room 'Naruto's room' now.
Fiftheen minutes later the two of them were in Kakashi's car, driving to the mall. (A/N: The mall has an indoor cinema)
It wasn't an awkward car ride but it wasn't comfortable either.
"S-sorry" Naruto managed to say. "About what?" Kakashi asked surprised. "The other day, when I cried like a baby a-and probably made you uncomfortable, I'm sorry"
Kakashi frowned. "Naruto, that's nothing to apologise about. Crying is normal, feeling sad or scared is normal. I'm actualy glad you opened up to me, this way I could maybe help you more"
For a while, neither of them spoke, then Naruto spoke again. "Why?" he looked at the silver haired man. "Why do you love the rain? Is there a deeper reason?"
Kakashi felt the corners of his lips tug upwards to form a small smile. "That's a story for another time"
