Chapter 14

It had been over months after the fight we had in the cafe, after which I never tried talking to him again. I don't think he wanted to talk either, so we left it at that. It was the last day of my college after which we have two months of break and the next academic year will start.

I walked into my house, dropped my bag on the floor and jumped on my couch. I turned on the television and started surfing through the channels.

Finally, no more college! I was planning to binge-watch Netflix today, but my thoughts were interrupted by a phone call.

Park Jimin.

I frowned and picked up the call.

He said, "Hello?"

I said irritatedly, "Park Jimin. Whatever you are gonna say, it better be important."

He said, "Y/N, It's high time you and Taehyung patch up."

I frowned and said, "I'm not going to meet him Jimin. The last time we tried talking things didn't go well."

He sighed and said, "Look Y/N, This was his final year. After this he isn't going to be here anymore. So please, just talk it out. If you want, I'll be the moderator."

I stayed silent for a while before asking, "Is he okay with it?"

He replied, "Yeah, he is fine with it."

I sighed and said, "Okay fine. But you need to be there."

He agreed to that. He said he would pick me up at five.

I got up from the couch and took a quick shower. I wore some presentable clothes and waited for Jimin to pick me up. Around five, he came over and we left immediately.

He took me to a cafe near his house and picked up Taehyung on the way. The whole car ride was awkward and silent. Once in a while, Jimin would crack a joke or two to lighten up the atmosphere but it didn't do any good.

Finally, we arrived at the cafe and Jimin said he would order the coffee for all three of us.

After a few minutes of silence, Taehyung said, "So how are you?"

I smiled a bit at his attempt to start a conversation and replied, "Good, good. What about you?"

He smiled back and said, "Great. Thanks for asking."

I nodded and said, "So what are you planning to do? Since college life has come to an end for you, are you planning to start working?"

He shook his head and said, "No, not really. I was planning to pursue my masters in Milan."

I asked a bit more interested, "Oh, have you gotten a college in mind?"

He nodded and said, "Yeah the college I attended for the exchange program. Since I had attended the program, I got an acceptance letter as soon as I applied."

I smiled widely and said, "Wow, that's so cool! I'm genuinely happy for you."

His smile wided and he was visibly relaxed on hearing that.

Before I could say anything, Jimin came over with the coffee and asked, "So, what did I miss?"

I said, "Nothing much, I was just asking about Taehyung's future plans."

He nodded and said, "So shall we talk about the main reason we are here?"

Taehyung raised an eyebrow and said, "Straight away to the topic I see?"

Jimin smiled cheekily and said, "I don't like beating around the bush."

I shook my head while smiling and said, "Whatever you say, Jimin."

I cleared my throat and said, "I- um I don't know what to say... What do you want me to say?"

Taehyung replied, "You know what? I'll start. Y/N, I'm sorry I didn't trust you enough. I was always insecure about our relationship and I think that was the main thing that affected it. I'm also sorry about accusing you of lying. My anger got the best of me and so I couldn't think straight."

I nodded understandingly and said, "Yeah, I'm sorry too Taehyung. I'm never really good at showing my affection so I came off as nonchalant when it came to our relationship. I never wanted to come off in a wrong way but I guess that wasn't the case. I don't think either of us should be blamed for the relationship. I feel that to be in a relationship, we have to make some adjustments and commitments but neither of us could do that and we ended up constantly blaming each other without understanding the other's side."

He nodded, "Yeah I agree. But I really enjoyed the time we spent together. It was fun with you, Y/N. I have no regrets in my relationship with you."

I smiled widely and said, "Likewise, Taehyung. I enjoyed spending time with you."

Jimin who was silently watching the interaction commented, "Wow, I didn't expect things to go this smoothly. But thanks for the pointers. Now I know what to do and not do in my relationship with Minji."

We both laughed at his statement. We spent hours talking and honestly, I was really happy that me and Taehyung could talk it out. After sometime, Taehyung and Jimin said they had to leave, so they ended up leaving early. I stayed back a little to have dinner after which I went to a bookstore to buy some books.

I entered the store and was welcomed by a grandma. I smiled and bowed in respect and walked around the bookstore. My eyes fell upon a book that I really wanted to read. I was about to take the book but someone else beat me to it. But that was the only copy of the book! I turned around ready to give an earful to the person but I was rendered speechless.

Wow, he was handsome.

He said with a guilty expression on his face, "I'm sorry, were you going to take this book?"

I grew flustered and said nervously, "Yeah... but that's okay. You can have it."

He looked at me with a shy smile and said, "How about I buy a coffee for you as an apology?"

I laughed a little and said, "Sure why not?"

Little did I know that it would be a start to something beautiful...

Hello everyone!!! Thank you soo much for staying till the end. I know the last few chapters were kind of unexpected but that's how relationships are. Not all relationships have a happy ending but that doesn't mean their lives won't have a happy ending. Some relationships don't work out but some will and no should be blamed for it. That's just how life is and we shouldn't feel disappointed. Ultimately it depends on whether you are compatible with the person or not.
