"Begin!" The announcer shouted as Reed and Asami stood across from one another on the stage.
"I'll win this." Reed said, reaffirming his words from moments prior.
"Big talk if we haven't even started yet." Asami replied.
"I must win if I want to save him..." Reed softly said, thinking of his own personal ambitions at the moment.
"Let's get this over with." Asami said before advancing with a chop, which Reed deflects.
"Let's end this then." Reed said.
"Kyo." Reed added.
"Already? The match just started..." Asami thought.
"You won't be seeing me until this match is over. Night light!" Reed said before everything goes dark around Asami and she can't see a thing.
The crowd can only see a large black half-sphere around the stage.
Reed Ramirez, a young man with a troubled past weighing him down. He grew up in an impoverished nation and didn't have much hope for his future other than survival.
His only role model was his older brother, Julio, who would help the townspeople the best he could in order to make sure that they didn't go to sleep hungry at night.
Reed always wanted to be the man that his brother was, that is until one day he found out how his brother was able to do what he did...
His brother's name quickly shot up the most wanted lists worldwide and he left Reed alone, with nothing but his bed and his night light.
Reed slept with his night light on every night from that day on hoping his brother would return.
Reed finally matured and changed his perspective a bit, he wanted to be the one to capture his brother...
He wanted the answers that he wouldn't get if he wasn't the one to do so, this drove him to enter himself into the IJA youth program and be an agent of justice!
"Oh my, I can't see a thing!!!" The announcer shouted within the darkness.
"Within this, you won't be able to see a thing. Only I can see in this bubble, everyone else inside the bubble lights up like a night light while in here. Now, let's see how long you last." Reed said while Asami remained blind within the darkness.
"Dammit... I can't really do anything if I can't see..." Asami thought before Reed landed a blow on her.
"I'll just have to keep my guard up now..." Asami said as she recoiled a bit from the first hit.
"That won't work..."
"Earlier you were saying you needed to win in order to save him... Who were you—" Asami said before being cut off by another hit.
She then continued, "—Who were you talking about..."
"Why do you care, you're privileged enough to get a free ride into the IJA, you shouldn't even acknowledge my problems."
"That's not true... I still had to work hard to be here."
"Oh, c'mon who are you kidding, the crowd idolized you just by hearing your last name. You have no idea what I had to go through to get here, but you worked hard on your dad's free lunch?"
"But they only did that because of my dad, not—" Asami got cut short again from yet another strike, this time it knocked her to the ground.
"Dammit, I didn't have my guard up..." Asami thought, then said, "They did that because of my dad, not me."
