Unsettling News

"With that, the standings for the top 3 students within this tournament are... Hannah! Ichi! And Anastasia!!" The announcer shouted, then thought, "Where is the Director! He was supposed to be here already..."

"Mhm... Now, you'll all head into the main meeting area and see which divisions want you..." The announcer said, then thought, "Where the hell is that old man?!?!"

"Divisions?" Vivian asked while still within the dugout.

"Don't worry he'll explain it." Jerome said, then thought, "Where the hell is the Director? I know he's usually late but damn, this is a whole 'nother level of late"

"This is awful." Ivan thought as everyone began to withdraw from the dugout and into the stadium.

Meanwhile, within the Captains room, all of them were taken aback from Harmony's sudden arrival, as well as the important news she needed to tell the Director. They all remained quiet as Harmony told Lynden on what occurred, she made sure to be as concise as possible repeating this report to her commanding officer.

"That's it..." Harmony said as she finished her story. 

The entire room is shocked, which is short of an understatement for their expression, they didn't know how to respond. This simply could not be true, it's impossible.

"That is some twisted joke, Harmony." Scarlet said, being the first person to respond from this story.

"Why would I joke about this?!?!" Harmony said.

"All my years working here, I have never seen Harmony this shaken up..." Clinton thought as she clearly couldn't figure out a reasonable solution to this predicament, if any at all.

"Take a seat." Lynden said to Harmony.

"How can he be so calm.... This is probably the biggest problem the IJA has ever faced..." Clinton thought as he eyed Lynden's calm and collected expression. Harmony sits down and is still a bit shaken.

"We must keep this information in this room." Lynden said, which wasn't exactly what any of them expected him to say after hearing that.

"Are you joking?! We can't just keep something like this to ourselves!" Mai said.

"I agree. This is something we need to handle now." Ryuzaki said.

"Ok. Let's say if we don't keep this information, one of the highest ranked agents kidnapped from our own HQ, how would that make the agency look? How would that affect our jobs? Once we make that public, every agent will be focused on that. Then all the other crimes that need to be settled will continue because we got one of our own kidnapped. We can't let anyone else know about this or we will just dig ourselves in a deeper hole." Lynden said.

"You always cease to impress me, Director." Marcus said.

"First we need more information on the Yamada then what we have. Secondly, we need time." Lynden said.

"Time?! We can't waste time while Vlad is in their laps!" Mai said.

"You need to calm down Mai." Lynden said.

"Calm Down! How can I be Calm in a situation like this?!?!"

"Just listen to him, he doesn't say anything without a reason." Clinton said.

Mai pauses, then slams her fist on the table in anger before sitting back down.

"I've never seen her lose her shit like that... she must've been close to Vlad." Patti thought.

"We need a solid plan. Especially since they aren't your average group of thugs. We need to first figure out how they knew our location in the first place. Our location isn't even known by the public. We are already a step behind. We have no idea where they are taking Vlad and why they even took him. Harmony, did you find out anything else?" Lynden said.

"Umm... yes. I got some info from Jiro, he told me that there were two of them and Kitai was among the two. He also told me that Vlad was defeated single handedly by the man who was with Kitai." Harmony said.

"What?! One man beat Vlad?" Nikolai asked.

"That's what Jiro told me." Harmony said.

"We have to expect that out of all their members." Scarlet said.

"Why? Why would they want an agent in the first place, especially someone like Vlad. It's not as if they expect us to pay a ransom or something?" Ryuzaki said.

"I'm trying to figure out their motive too. Why didn't they take their own member instead?" Sam said.

"I asked Jiro that too, but he just told me a riddle. He said ''why would a Yamada really care that one tail is severed." Harmony replied.

"That gives us nothing. What did you get from it, Clinton?" Nikolai asked.

"Well, just from that, it seems as if he's telling us that once he was captured they no longer cared for him as one of theirs anymore. But I need more information than that to see why they kidnapped Vlad..." Clinton replied.

"We still haven't really brought up one question yet. It seems that we have a mole in our HQ." Sam said.

"How did you come up with that?" Scarlet asked.

"It's obvious. How else did they have knowledge of our location?" Sam responded.

"That's the other reason why I said we keep this information in this room. If we do have a mole, if we make this information public, they will know everything that we do. I trust everyone here, but the rest is in the dark after today..." Lynden said.
