Michael's POV
"The emergency contacts are on the fridge. There is 911, poison control, and whatever else kind of hotlines there are for emergencies." I rambled as I continued to fix my shirt. I hate dressing up but since Calum and I were going on our first date in a long time I felt it was necessary.
"Mikey I think we've got it under control." Luke smiled as he bounced Logan up and down on his knee. He's taken such a liking to Logan as of late.
"You have our cell numbers and Mali's number is on the fridge with the others. She's at a friends house but she will always answer." I added, still fidgeting with the sleeves of my button up shirt.
"Mikey, we've got it under control." Ashton added from his seat on the couch. He was dangling toys in front of a squawking Logan. At three months old he is definitely hitting all the milestones he was supposed to.
"This is just the first time we've been out since Logan." my mouth was moving faster than my brain, I don't know why I'm so nervous.
"We know and we know how to take care of him, I watched my siblings when they were younger." Ashton smiled and continued to coo at my son.
"We've got this." Luke added, smiling at Ashton. Looks like the past few months of therapy was working wonders for them.
"Well still the numbers are on the-" I stopped as Calum came into view at the top of the stairs. He was fumbling with the sleeves of his shirt all the way down the stairs and I couldn't stop myself from staring.
It was like time had reversed to all the dates Calum and I had gone on and I was even more nervous now. Time plays tricks on our brains sometimes. Suddenly we see something or hear something or even smell something, that grabs ahold of us to drag us back in time. Calum's face was scrunched up as he messed with his sleeves and I couldn't help but laugh a little. He hates wearing dress clothes as much as I do.
"Does this damn thing look okay?" He asked, now messing with the collar of his shirt.
The dark green shirt was perfect against his skin and the black skinny jeans clung to his legs per usual. I took in a deep breath to control myself. Of course we both knew how this night would end up but I at least wanted to get through dinner. I worked super hard on the plans for the night and I wasn't going to ruin it over a quickie in the restaurant bathroom.
"Yes it looks good." I smiled, leaning in to kiss his cheek out of instinct.
"Good." He nodded as he turned to face Luke, Ashton, and Logan. "Did you give them all the instructions?" He glanced at me and I smiled.
"Yes already taken care of." I assured him.
"What about the-"
"Calum I covered everything and if we don't leave in like," I took a second to check the time on my phone. "Five minutes then we will miss our reservations." I said, making eye contact with Calum again.
"Okay well then, lads have a good time but not too good." He teased, walking over to the couch. "Good night Logan, see you when we get home." Calum knelt down to be eye level with the smiling baby and kissed his forehead.
I swear that every time he does that my heart skips a beat.
"Bye Logan." I told the cooing baby, mimicking Calum's actions.
"Say bye bye dads." Ashton's baby voice cooed at Logan and Luke made the baby's little hand wave.
"Bye Logan." Calum said one more time as we headed for the door. We paused at the front door to shrug on our jackets before bracing the air outside.
