Lunch Break

12:00 AM. It was about time for all the students in class 1B of Hope's Peak Academy to have lunch. Normally, Togami would sit by himself while he ate, but he'd be in for a surprise today.

"Togami -saannn!" The brunette called. Togami was quickly snapped out of his thoughts as Makoto ran toward him. "Togami-san, do you wanna eat lunch together?" Makoto asked, tugging his own school bag's straps. "H-How come..?" The heir stuttered. Makoto awkwardly chuckled. "Well... all of my friends are out doing their own thing, and I feel like munching on some food with my pals right now.." "So you wish for me to accompany you?" Makoto nodded eagerly. "T-Then I shall." Togami stated, standing up from his seat.

Makoto gawked as the somewhat lithe but tall man stood before him. "W-Whoa... Y-You're like, super tall.." Makoto held his hand over his mouth, "How tall even are you..?" "Around 6'1" I presume." The blonde prided his height. "And 80% is just leg." Makoto giggled. "H-Hey!"

The two walked out of their classroom and continued to converse, chatting about everything from cats, to the meaning of life. It was not long before Togami would ask a specific question. "Naegi-kun, how do you feel about.. Lgbt?" Makoto glanced at the blonde for a moment before responding, "Oh? Well, of course I accept them! After all, what kind of person doesn't support a community they're in?" Togami gulped. Maybe he did have a chance with Makoto after all. "W-Wait.. what..?" He sputtered. "Oh.... Togami, a-are you homophobic?" Makoto asked, "I-I swear i wont hate you! Jus-" "-N-NO! Of course not. I was just curious... That is all. I do support Lgbt." Togami interjected. "Ahhhh, good! Sorry for making assumptions and stuff, it's just the way you worded it made it seem a lil' offensive, that's all!"

10 minutes of walking flashed by, as the duo were already making their way into a cute coffee shop on the corner of the road. The shop's bell jingled as the door opened. "What is this... commoner's hideout?" Togami questioned, staring into the cozy store. Makoto tittered. "It's a coffee shop! it's called 'Maria's Corner Café', if you read the sign out there." "Ahhh, I see. That is one stupid name." Togami snickered. They both found a seat next to a window that overlooked the vibrant street. Orange coloured trees scattered around the area, making their homes on the grassy plots that cut off on the road. The sky was blue and cloudy, but not too cloudy, as the fluffy white blobs framed the periwinkle perfectly, but not as perfect as Makoto was to Byakuya.

The waiter shuffled his way to the table and cleared his throat anticipatingly. "Hello, fellow humans, other humans refer to me as Gundham Tanaka, of the Tanaka Empire. How may I serve you?" He said in a monotonous voice. "Hello! I'd like to order a decaf mocha frappe with extra milk, please." Makoto spoke cheerily, then nodded over to Byakuya, signalling him to order. "I'd like a chocolate chip cookie and the.... super duper... funny whooper... kids.. strawberry milk. In large." Togami awkwardly mumbled his order. "'Kay." The waiter said simply, and trotted away dramatically. They could hear cheering from the employee's room as Gundham walked in. "Great job Gundham! You spoke... normally for once!" A girl with long blonde hair styling a black bow cheered. Multiple unidentifiable people praised the young man as well.

"Sooooo.... How was your day..?" Makoto awkwardly spoke, playing with his cowlick in an attempt to combat the social anxiety. "My day?" The blonde questioned, "My day was fine. Not good, not bad," he finished. "Well, that's good. Having a mediocre day is better than having a sucky one!" Makoto laughed. Togami nodded his head in agreement. "You could also say a mediocre person is better than a bad one." He referred to the plain-looking brunette in front of him. "Well.... I guess, haha..." Soon after the duo's conversation, the same waiter from before gave them their drinks. "Mocha latte?" The waiter asked, placing it in the middle of the table. Makoto took the cup and nodded gratefully, "Thank you." "I presume this is yours, no?" The man asked, holding a strawberry milk in his hand. "I- yes. Thank you very much." Togami grabbed the cup out of the waiter's hand. "Your cookie will be done in a moment, sir. I will go fetch it." As soon as he said it, their server left to go get Byakuya's chocolate chip cookie.
Around a minute later he shuffled back and quickly placed the cookie in front of the heir, and went back into the employee's room.

The shop was very peaceful, and secluded. The only other people in the shop were a high school girl with short red hair and freckles, fixing a camera, and a random old guy at the back eating a cake.

"Your hair looks like your drink." Byakuya simply stated. Makoto flushed awkwardly. "You think so...?" The blonde stared at Makoto, suppressing the temptation to play with his crushes hair. "What is it, Togami?" Makoto asked. Byakuya shook his head, "Ah, no.. It's nothing, really." "I see..."

The two sat in silence, occasionally sipping their drinks or taking a bite out of a cookie. Suddenly Makoto stood up and yelled. "WE FORGOT TO PAY!" The red haired girl and the old man stared at them in confusion. "I'll do that," Togami cleared his throat, "excuse me, waiter!" He yelled. The tall man, 'Gundham Tanaka of the Tanaka Empire' rushed out. "WHAT IS IT, FOOLISH HUMANS??!" "We forgot to pay for our food." Makoto simply stated. "Oh, I see." Gundham took out a card reader out of nowhere. "How did he...?" Togami questioned. 'It doesn't matter' He thought to himself. "Card, please." The waiter demanded. Byakuya nodded and reached for his purse, soon realizing it was on Makoto's side of the table. "Naegi, do you mind fishing out my wallet from my purse?" He asked. Makoto nodded and clicked open Togami's purse, swiping through the various objects inside of it. Curiously, the brunette glanced at a piece of paper that wrote, 'Confess your love to him' on it. Makoto shook it off of course, it wasn't him... right? He quickly took out a dark red wallet with a gold crest engraved on the front, passing it to the heir.

Togami received his wallet a mumbled a quiet 'Thank you,' taking out a black credit card and passing it to the waiter. After Gundham swiped his card, Togami took it back and carefully pushed it back into his wallet, giving it to Makoto to put back into his purse.

It was about time for the two head back to school for class. They both got up from their seats, thanked the employees, and exited the café, a tiny jingle following soon after.

"Hey, Togami-san?" Makoto pondered. The blonde nodded, "Go on." "You're gay, right?" Togami swallowed a lump of anxiety. "How would you know?" He asked. "Well, I mean, it all adds up... You asked me if I supported Lgbt, you set off my gaydar, and you like a guy." Makoto answered. "Yes, I am gay. What is it to you?" The taller asked, playing with his tie to distract himself. "Oh, no! It's nothing! It's just cool that I can find a person kinda similar to me in that regard, haha. I'm Bi!" Makoto casually came out to Byakuya. Ok, that's it, Togami definitely had somewhat of a chance of getting with Makoto. "Nice." Togami responded simply.
