Makoto sat on the floor in his bedroom, 2 blazers laying down in front of him. He kept looking back and forth between the two, holding his chin with his hand. "Komaru, I need help!" He yelled, getting up from the floor.
Makoto's sister cracked open the door, staring at the clothes on the floor. "Oh, I see" She giggled. "Red's not your colour, choose the white one." She pointed to the white blazer. Makoto nodded, "Thanks Komaru." He shoved her out of his room, proceeding to pick the clothes off of the floor and change into them.
Slipping the white blazer on, he gazed at himself in the mirror, fixing the collar of his suit. 'What would he think of this suit on me?' Makoto quickly withdrew the thought, he didn't care about Togami's opinion on him, right? He shook his head and took out his phone from his pocket to snap a photo of himself.
He sent the picture of himself to Byakuya, patiently awaiting an answer. Around 30 seconds later, the heir sent a reply to Makoto and quickly as possible.
You look terrible.

Makoto sighed and switched off his phone, slumping onto his bed. He didn't recognize that his friend meant the complete opposite, but was too shy to acknowledge it. On the other side of the screen, Byakuya gawked at the photo on screen, regretting that he sent that message to Makoto. He didn't mean it at all. As an apology, He quickly sent another one.
Terribly great.

even though Makoto would never admit it, but he had caught feelings for Togami. Maybe not as strong as the ones the blonde had for him, but he definitely wouldn't mind going on a date or two with him. Or three. Or four. Ok, Makoto would date Byakuya. That worked out well for him, since Togami would pretty much do anything to be with Makoto. The feelings were mutual.
2 days later, the day of the dance, everyone in Hope's Peak had a partner. Including Makoto and Byakuya. The heir picked up Makoto from his house, and drove him in his own car. Honestly, Byakuya couldn't even comprehend that he was driving his very own crush to a dance that they were going to together.
"Woah, Togami-san.. your car is so clean.... and fancy.." Makoto spoke in awe. Togami snickered, "Yes, that is because I am richer than you." Makoto pouted and flicked the blonde's head. "That's rude!" Byakuya sighed dramatically and rammed his car keys into the keyhole. The car started up, and the sounds of the engine were almost non-existent. Of course, that was to be expected, Togami's car looked like something that would belong to Bill Gates himself.
"Do you have an aux port?" Makoto tapped Byakuya's shoulder, awaiting a response. The blonde simply sighed, and pointed to a small hole in the front of the car. Makoto grinned and plugged the aux cable into his phone.
They had about 10 seconds of silence before Makoto started to play 'Super Bass' by Nicki Minaj at full volume. The luckster opened the cars windows and passionately rapped along to the lyrics of the song. "Naegi, turn it down! My eardrums are being ripped apart like cloth!" Togami yelled, hissing in pain. "Sorry, sorry!" Makoto giggled and turned the volume down to a reasonable level. Makoto still quietly whispered, "Boy you got my heartbeat runnin' away... beating like a drum and it's coming your waayy.. can't you hear thAT BOOM BA DOOM DOOM BOOM BA DOOM DOOM BASS CAN'T YOU HEAR THAT BOOM BA DOOM DOOM BOOM BA DOOM DOOM-" "SHUT THE FUCK UP NAEGI"
When they arrived, Makoto stared in awe at the decorations carefully placed at the doors of their school. Fairy lights littered the outer walls, and a banner was hung up that read 'School Dance!' In colourful bubble letters. They could hear music and talking from the inside of the gym, some light seeping out of the front door.
"Shall we go, sir Togami?" Makoto spoke dramatically, slightly chuckling right after. Byakuya laughed back in response, and nodded, opening the door for the luckster. Makoto hopped out of the car, walking toward the school building. "Are you excited?" Makoto asked, tilting his head. "You dragged me into this," Togami simply responded, proceeding to open the entrance doors to the gym. Makoto laughed, "You're the one who asked me to come with you, silly!"
As they entered the 'venue', Hiyoko ran up to them, making a silly face and running away. "What a kid." Byakuya spoke in a disgusted tone.
They both walked to a lounge area at the far right corner of the large room. A bowl of punch sat on a table placed in front of a red loveseat, where Kaede, Kirumi, and Miu sat, talking about god knows what. Makoto sighed, "This place's taken." "Let's go to the balcony." Byakuya proposed, not taking no for an answer as he grabbed the brunette's arm, leading him to the said destination.
The balcony was quite large, as the gym was on the 6th floor. It overlooked the street, the was lit by street lamps and passerby cars. "Who knew that such a prestigious school could be near a middle class neighborhood," Makoto laughed, resting his arms on the railing and enjoying the view. The light breeze swept away a few loose strands in his hair, his eyes half lidded and almost tired. "I guess so." Togami responded, joining Makoto and looking over the railing as well. "I'm quite certain you have already found out how I feel about you by now." The blonde spoke, Makoto nodding in response. "I will now tell you formally." He breathed in, preparing himself. "Makoto Naegi." The brunette looked in Togami's direction. "I've... felt this way about you for a while. A little over 3 years." "You went to the same middle school as me?" Makoto asked. Byakuya simply nodded in response.
"You're the most positive person I know. You're always so happy, and just being near you can brighten anyone's day. I feel like every time you look at me, my life finally becomes more vibrant, filling me with purpose in hope. You're my ray of sunshine." Togami stared longingly into the lucksters eyes. "Naegi, I like you. No, I love you." He choked out, trying to prevent the tears from falling. Byakuya was scared that Makoto would reject him because he was way out his league in his eyes.
"Togami-san.... I...." Makoto spoke, unsure of his words. "I-I.... like you too." He responded. Byakuya held Makoto's cheeks, giving him a small smile. He leaned in slowly, Makoto pushing him away a bit. "Let that wait a little while longer." He chuckled. Togami laughed, "Alright, alright. I was getting a little greedy.
That night was a night the two would remember. The night when the moonlight shone upon their faces, bringing them a future they would cherish forever.
