𝐭𝐰𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐲 𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐞

He squeezes his eyes shut, trying not to answer the question. He was very stiff. 

"Five?" I quietly call.

No response.

"Five!!" I shout and he flinches. 

"What are you hiding?" 

I am now shouting. I thought I could trust him. I'm scared to know what he 'did to me'.

He looks down at his feet, avoiding eye contact. I see tears swelling in his eyes. "There's... s-something I left o-out..."

I wait a moment for him to keep talking. 

He darts his eyes everywhere in the room, except for me. "In th-" He begins but I interrupt him.

"Look at me." I order. 

He hesitates before slowly looking at me in the eyes. His hands were shaking and there were tears falling from his eyes. 

"J-just promise me... t-that you know, I regret this every day." He studders.

I feel my heart rate pick up. "Okay...?"

--FLASHBACK: TEN YEARS IN THE APOCALYPSE--

It was a sunny evening for the couple. The last couple on earth.

"I think I got something, guys!" Five yells, hope in his voice.

"What is it baby?" Sky asks her husband. 

"I think... we might be getting out of here soon!"

"Really?" Sky wraps her arms around Fives and plants a big kiss on his lips. After a couple of moments, she pulls away. "Did you hear that Delores?"

"I did!" Delores 'said'. 

"God I am hungry though.." Five mutters, looking at the wall full of equations.

Sky sighs before looking back at the empty bag, that was once full of food. "Me too... want me to go search for some?" She smiles kindly. 

"That would be wonderful sweetie." He smiles back. "Just... don't go too far. I wouldn't want you to get hurt." He shouts as she walks away.

The girl flings her arms in the air. "I will be fine!"

Oh, how wrong was she. 

As Five was alone with Delores, a woman called the Handler, came and offered him a job. You know what I'm talking about. Yeah, that scene. He told her, he wants to check with Sky before going. He would never leave her alone out here.
