You have probably heard of thousands of stories of men who, tired of living miserably, decided that enough is enough. They decided to make deals with the devil to ease their way through life. But have these men in reality ever existed? Or is it mere envy and jealousy of those close to them? What if they were hard workers whose spontaneous success could not be explained by men and the only conclusion given was that deal? Is it superstition or reality? If you are still looking the answer to the above questions, you may as well count me among the ignorant. If you are reading this and you take it that success is shaped only by hard work, gratitude and saving, I am advising you to stop reading at this very point.

Still here? Good. That means you are part of the other half. I won't categorize them. They may not be superstitious as per say, but lets say they are a bit curious about life. You know, like they want to discover the mysteries of life...and the deeper mysteries at that. They don't believe everything said by everyone. They are free thinkers, always devising their intellectual fields of imagination. In short, this latter group tends to think more for themselves than the first (not that I am exaggerating.) Whether there exists soul selling or buying is a question which requires a two-way answer. It is a both yes and no.

And this answer depends on what you believe and have been made to think. It's like asking a common person and an astronaut whether there is Jupiter in space. The common man, never having gone to Jupiter personally, will contend to the intuition given to him and in absence of this intuition, he will contend himself with the fact that Jupiter is simply an illusion. Lets ask the astronaut the same question. Having been to Jupiter personally, he won't argue with anyone crying that it is an illusion. Why? Because he knows the reality and thus he will see it as a waste of time to absorb knowledge from the ignorant.

In the same spirit, soul selling and buying can be seen as a two way question requiring both a yes and no answer.

Take Robert Johnson, the famed guitarist for instance. If anyone in his time was arguing against the doctrine, Johnson who had really tasted the bitter vinegar of the deal with the devil, would simply have walked away. Much like the poor men complaining that there is little money in the world. The rich are the opposite of such a myopic view. Just because Richard cannot afford buying chicken everyday for his family, does not render the whole world to his inadequacy of funds and money doctrine. Are you still with me? Or you are lost? I expect you to be. So, why don't you stretch yourself a bit?

Back to the main issue, Erthenes. Erthenes is a ritual that involves the period of concealment of the soul by a spell. It involves six stages of illumination. I won't make a decent list of them for the time being. But you ought to know that they are six. So, let's take it that our man X tired of living miserably, decides to give up and drive himself to the source of lavish wealth. This wealth, of course, comes with a price.

The man then invokes the name of a demon at a certain hour of the day. Each denolith (demon) has its own invocation period. The man about to sell his soul is thus required to make of himself all the things he wants. He is required to be specific. If he wants money, he ought to specify the amount.(Terms and conditions apply here.) If he wants a talent or fame, he should do the same thing- specify.

After specifying, then he is required to fill out an oath with the denolith invoked. The deal is specifically made in a dark, often secretive enclosure or room. The Devil's bible- a big black thick volume is used here. Color is of importance here. The man summoning a specific denolith considers color, lighting and several other factors that are conducive to the denolith. The contract is written with blood or at meetings with lower denoliths, in red ink. It is sealed with what you might call the Underground seal or the Devil's seal.

So, the deal is made. But great importance is to be taken here. The more the soul of the man involved be pure, the more grants and wishes he made be fulfilled. The soul of a long term religious man is favored more than that of a recent drug addict or criminal. Purer souls have more power and strength than their weak counterparts. Another alternative of selling one's soul is through an intermediate agent. Meeting with the agent is less time consuming than the former option where you have to wait for the denolith for about an hour or so.

The agent simplifies the deal and makes it faster thus granting you what you want as soon as possible. Taken to the extreme are the deals between devil and the likes of people like Robert Johnson. It is funny of how people describe his meeting with a tall man who played a few tunes before handing him back his guitar. This is humorous because none of that stuff ever happened.

It is true Johnson went to a crossroads, but all the other stuff is a clear misrepresentation of the true story. Robert Johnson in fact never confronted any denolith face-to-face. What really happened is that Robert had a burning desire to play the guitar having been a laborer for almost his teenage life.

He then met a friend (name with-held...don't ask why!) who introduced him to the rhythm. The rhythm is simply a ritual in black magic where the practitioners invoke the spirits of the dead for a length of time until a skill is perfected. Johnson used to play his guitar at the tombstones.

This was done exactly at 3:40 am since it is the time when the hearing of the dead rises to the human frequency. So, the trick is to repeat the instructions of what you want to perfect to the dead for a length approximately a month or so for the early practitioners. It is less for the experienced practitioners, of course.

The rhythm is more close to soul selling only that you don't sell your soul after a day or so. It is perhaps a longer-timed process. The crossroads is simply mystifying an opinion that needs further clarification.
