Chapter 6

Niall's POV

Ashley's birthday is tomorrow and I need to get her a great gift. For her birthday party I'm going to surprise her with renting out the hotel pool just for us and her friends.

I already know I'm going to get her a puppy. Her older dog just died a couple of months ago, and she wants a new dog. I talked to her parents and they said it was okay. I'm going to get her a German Shepherd mix I found at the rescue. She's always wanted a German Shepherd, but she also wants to save a dog, so I figured it will do. I want to raise it together with her.

But I want to get her something bigger. I know just the thing. If only I could get a hold of her demo.

One day later

Ashley's POV

I get up from bed, knowing its my birthday. I get dressed and brush my hair. I go downstairs to the kitchen, waiting for me is a huge pile of pancakes. Catarina is already there eating hers. We do this every year.

"Happy birthday." My parents and Catarina say in unison.

"Thanks guys." I said to them.

I started to eat my pancakes. I finished my pancakes. Then comes the shower of gifts. My parents got me a lot of clothes from Brandy Melville, a new pair of light brown Steve Madden boots, and a kindle fire. They really went all out this year for my 17th birthday. Catarina got me a crimp curling iron and a $50 gift card for Forever 21.

I went upstairs to brush my teeth. When I was in the middle of brushing my teeth,I heard the doorbell ring. After I was done brushing my teeth, I went downstairs to the kitchen, and there was Niall holding a puppy in his arms. It looked like a German Shepherd, but I could tell she wasn't a pure breed. Good because that means he probably got it at a shelter or rescue.

"Happy birthday love" Niall said

He let go of the puppy and she ran to me. I started to pet her.

"Thanks" I said. I went up and hugged him. "What's her name?"

"That's for you to decide." He told me

I started to think of names. Um, maybe Chrystal or Natalie. I know her name though, I said,

"Her name is Bella."

"That's a wonderful name." Niall said

Everyone started to pet her. She was so cute. She had Shepherd colors, bright blue eyes just like Niall's, and a tail that swung around viciously.

"Okay well let's get going!" Catarina said

"Where are we going?" I asked

"You'll see." Niall said

Catarina and I got into Niall's car. I sat in the passenger seat next to Niall and Catarina sat in the back. We drove for a while. Then Niall's said,

"Put this blindfold on."

"Um okay." I said confused.

"Trust me you'll love it." Catarina said

They must have put a lot of work into whatever we were doing. I put the blindfold on. We drove for a little longer. Then we stopped. Niall guided me around. Then he stopped. He said,

"Take you're blindfold off."

I did as I was told. And standing before me were all my friends, the rest of One Direction, and Harry's and Liam's girlfriends Annabelle and Lucy. They all screamed out,

"Surprise!"

"Aw thanks guys!" I said.

We were at their hotel pool.

"Here I have a swim suit for you." Catarina said

I got changed. There was a DJ and everyone had a fun time. It looked like Hannah and Zayn hit it off. The party went on for a while. When everyone left except Catarina, Annabelle, Lucy, and the guys we all started to talk. Then a little bit later an unknown number called my phone. I asked Niall,

"Should I answer it?" Showing him the number

"Yes" Niall said with a huge grin in his face

I answered the phone. "Hello." I said

The person on the other line answered, "hello is this Ashley Holden?"

"Yes I'm Ashley Holden." I said

"I'm Mr. Star the producer of Sony Music USA and I heard you're demo, and I think you have potential to become a huge star."

I was shocked I couldn't believe what I was hearing. How did they get my demo? Wait a minute, Niall! I can't believe he did that.

"Would you like a recording contract?" Mr. Star asked

"Um yes of course! But I'll have to talk to my parents about it." I told him

"Okay take all the time you need. Just call this number when you have the answer. Goodbye." Mr. Star said

"Bye." I said

"And who was that?" Niall asked pretending not to know

"I can't believe you did that! Thank you so much! You're the best boyfriend ever!" I told him

"I know." He said

I went up and hugged him and kissed him.

We all talked for a long time. Then later Niall drove me home.

"Thanks Niall for everything you did today. It was the best birthday ever!"

"It wasn't that big of a deal. I just wanted my girl to have her special day be great." Niall said

"Yes it is a big of a deal. I can't believe you got me a puppy and a recording contract!" I said

"It was all in a days work. I just want the world to see how big of a star you can be!" He said

"Okay well thanks again." I said. "Goodnight. I love you." I kissed him on the cheek

"I love you too. I'll see you tomorrow." Niall said. He kissed me full on the lips.

I went inside and told my parents almost everything that happened today. The problem was how am I going to tell them about the recording contract.
