The next morning I woke up late because my alarm didn't go off. Shit I only had 20 minutes to get ready and be at school. Plus today was a big day because I was gonna try to start talking to Calum again. Thinking about him made me super nervous. My hands started to sweat and I got butterflies thinking back at all our old memories. After I was done day dreaming I hurried up and got ready. I left my hair natural down and decided that I didn't want to put on makeup today. I threw on a oversized band t- shirt with leggings and headed out the door.
I got in my car and drove to school. I don't have any classes with Calum this year, so I guess ill have to wait until lunch before I can talk to him.
All my classes zoomed by and I was really nervous. I saw Calum sitting in his normal spot with Luke. After me and Calum stopped being friends Luke and Calum became super close. Which is super hard for me now considering that Luke is such a asshole. I usually sit by myself at lunch but today I was felling courageous and decided I would try something a little different.
I walked up to Calum's table and sat down. All of there conversations stopped and everyone at the table turned and looked at me. No one said anything so I decide to speak up. "Hi". Everyone still didn't say anything and was just staring at me until Calum finally spoken up. "Hey Abby, what are you doing over here?" What he said kinda hurt. I mean I can understand why he would be confused but still. "I didn't have anyone to sit by and I really wanted to talk to you." Calum looked at me in shock that I was even talking to him. He had a slight smile on his face and said "that sucks but your always welcome to sit with us." I nodded my head as a thanks and the rest of lunch was really awkward and quit.
As soon as the lunch bell rang I ran out of there not really wanting to talk or see anyone. The rest of my classes flew by and it was finally time to leave for school. I grabbed my stuff and headed outside to my car. What I wasn't expecting was for Calum to be outside of my car waiting for me.
"Hey Abby, Luke usually drives me home but he couldn't today so I was wondering if u could maybe give me a lift" Calum said. "Umm ye-yea sure" I stuttered. I unlocked my car and Calum hopped in the passenger seat. I started driving and there was a lot of awkward tension. "So... How are you?" Calum finally spoke up. I didn't know how to respond to him do I tell him the truth or.. I decided I would just lie. "I'm fine" I said with a fake smile.
I pulled up to his house and he hopped out of my car. "You know Abby you can come inside if u want. I mean you don't have to but we could like work on homework and stuff and I don't know it could be fun?" He asked nervously which made me chuckle a bit. "Ya sure that sounds great." I hoped out of my car and grabbed my stuff following Calum into his house. When I walked inside it was just the same as I remembered it to be. It was a small house but it was cozy. It had one bedroom downstairs and two upstairs. We both headed up to his room which still had band posters al over the walls, but I think a few more posters were added. I laughed a little "Wow u still haven't changed." He looked at me and nodded and said with a sad smile "Ya I haven't, but you've changed a lot".
