CHAPTER 16

Chanel's POV

I look at his back while he's cooking for lunch. I finished reading his magazines which obviously, about engineering stuff din.

Andito uli ako sa condo nya, it's his day off and asked me to drop by. Well di naman ako magtatagal, I still need to go to our shop later. I'm staying til lunch lang.

"Gutom ka na ba?" tanong nya habang nagpapakulo ng karne.

"Hindi naman. Take your time." I smiled.

"Pasensya na mabagal talaga ako magluto." natatawa nyang sabi.

"Buti ka nga marunong magluto." he looked back at me with his brow raised.

"You don't know how to cook?"

"Y-yeah." nahihiya kong sagot.

"Why?"

"I grew up having someone to cook for me."

"Oo nga pala, anak mayaman 'to. Hahaha!"

"Grabe. It's just that my parents hired someone to do it, and they won't allow me to go to the kitchen."

"Eh di ba you live alone? Pano pagkain mo sa araw araw?"

"Well I can cook the basics naman, like frying except for fish. Pero ung homemade dishes, di talaga ako marunong. Whenever I follow recipes, I always end up making a mess so bumibili na lang ako sa labas."

"Don't worry, kaya naman kitang ipagluto or if you want, I can teach you how to cook." he said while chopping the vegetables.

"Who taught you how to cook?"

"My Mom. Mahilig un magluto eh me being the first born, ako ung naging assistant nya sa kusina." he chuckles.

"How about Brent?"

"Taga kain." natawa naman ako sa sinabi nya. But it must be really fun having siblings.

Pinagpatuloy lang nya ang pagluluto nya at ako naman ay tahimik lang na nanonood dito sa stool.

I was occupied by my own thoughts when I was taken back to reality by his vibrating phone na nakapatong sa tabi ko.

"Uhm Carlo..." I called him.

"Yeah?" he said without looking at me.

"Someone's calling sa phone mo."

"Sino?" he asked, still busy cooking.

I looked at his screen and it displays a picture of a girl in office attire.

"Jennifer?" I said.

"Oh. Wait." naghugas lang sya ng kamay at naglakad palapit dito. "I'm just gonna take this call, okay?"

"Sure." after kong sumagot ay lumabas na muna sya ng unit.

Tumayo muna ako at tiningnan ung linuluto nya.

Waaaaah! Ang sarap tingnaaaan!

I don't know what dish this is, wala naman akong alam sa mga pagkain kasi katulad ng kapatid ni Carlo, taga kain lang din ako.

Busy akong pinapanood ung pagkulo ng ulam nang mapabalikwas ako dahil sa humawak sa balikat ko.

"Gosh! Don't you do that again!" napahawak ako sa dibdib ko dahil muntikan na akong mapasubsob sa stove.

"Hahaha! Sorry sorry." he looked at the food he's cooking at agad na chineck yon. "Kumukulo na pala. Sorry that call took long." he said at tinanggal ung takip.
