BamBam hurriedly got out of his car, locking it behind him and jogging in the direction of one of the hospital entrances, millions of thoughts racing through his mind, anxiety making his stomach churn.

He'd been near the hospital already -- on his way to get dinner somewhere, so when he'd received a call from Jackson alerting him to Mark's car accident, he'd been quick to arrive. All thoughts of Mark and Jinyoung, of feeling betrayed, of never fixing their relationship left his mind, everything consumed in a deep need to be there for Mark.

To make sure he was okay.

"Mark Tuan? Got into a car accident, admitted tonight? Room number, please," he asked the receptionist breathlessly. It was quite late and the lobby was nearly empty, the silence doing nothing to make him feel better. The woman looked up at him skeptically, asking: "Are you a close friend or family member?"

"C-close friend," Bam replied, ignoring the whispers that raced through his head at his reply.

After telling him his room number he thanked her and searched for the lift, entering it and clicking the floor number, waiting very much impatiently as he wondered why the elevator didn't move any faster.

Ding.

He exited the lift and searched for Mark's room, steps quickening as he neared the correct number.

The door was open.

Nerves began to fill him and he took a deep breath before taking a step inside.

Jinyoung was there.

He was sitting on a chair next to Mark's bed, a cup of water in his hands.

BamBam realised he was holding his breath and sighed as he realised Mark was awake, and didn't look too bad. There was a bandage around his head, his face was pale and his left arm was in a cast, but at least he wasn't worse. At least he was still here.

Mark didn't say anything, glancing first at BamBam then maintaining eye contact with his boyfriend.

Jinyoung stood up. "I'll go get you more water," he said, before walking past Bam, looking at him as if to warn him not to do any damage.

There was silence for a moment and BamBam walked towards Mark, sitting in the chair Jinyoung had occupied. Mark refused to look at him.

"You have no idea how glad I am that you're okay,"

No reply.

Bam ran his fingers through his hair before leaning forward, his eyes on Mark. "I know I haven't been the nicest person lately..."

"You don't say," Mark muttered, picking at a thread on his blanket.

"Okay, I've been a dick," BamBam admitted. "A complete and total dick to you. I'm sorry. I'm sorry," Tears began to form in his eyes but Mark wasn't looking. Bam reached out and wrapped his hand around his.

Almost losing Mark had really shaken him up, and the realisation that it could've happened on bad terms instilled in him a desire to fix everything, because truly all he wanted was his best friend back.

Mark's eyes widened as he noticed the shaking of Bam's hand. He looked at the other boy.

"You're extremely important to me, you know? And though I may not show it, or tell you often, you're the best friend I could ever ask for. What we had, I took for granted, and I can't begin to imagine how much I must've hurt you. You don't have to forgive me, I probably don't deserve it anyway, but I just want you to know that I didn't do what I did because I didn't love you. I want you to know that I didn't mean what I said during our argument. 'How is anyone supposed to love you?' was a stupid thing to say, because every time I saw you I would think: 'How is anyone not supposed to love you?"
