Chapter Ten

   T R E N T

I TURN OVER AND groan when I feel the bed next to is empty. I slowly open my eyes and blink, adjusting to the little light that's peeking through the curtains. As expected the space next to me is empty and it feels cold, like it's been empty for a while. Her phone and clothes are gone and the room is empty, almost no trace of her. I think for a moment that I've been dreaming, but my room smells like her. And I probably wouldn't have even come in my room if it weren't for her.

I check my phone but there are no new texts. I start to get worried. I'm sure that she wouldn't have left if she didn't have a good reason, but she should have surely sent me a text reassuring me that she's okay. Now I can't help but worry about her safety. I shuffle out of bed, checking the other room but Andrea isn't there either.

There is only one thing that I can do.

I quickly get into the shower and then get dressed. I grab my car keys from the kitchen counter, checking my phone one more time just in case she messaged me in the short time that I was in the shower. It's not normal for someone to leave in the middle of the night after having sex, unless it's a one night stand. But with Samara its different. We've already had sex multiple times before so she doesn't have any reason to wake up before me and take the 'walk of shame.' Plus, I wanted to have morning sex with her.

I get to her office building in record speed time. The front door is unlocked so I let myself in. Edith is sitting at the front desk with Andrea, which is odd because Andrea is always with Samara. She notices me and a frown makes it's way onto her lips. I'm really starting to worry now.

"Hi, ma'am. Is Samara in?" He ask, hoping that she is in her office.

And if she is, she better have a darn good reason as to why she left without even saying a word to me.

"Sorry dear, but she's not in and I don't think that she will be in today." She tells me in her grandmotherly voice.

Disappointment washes over me but I understand that Samara has some personal issues but now I am worried. She could be in trouble and I don't know why this bothers me so much, but it does.

"Honey, I'll tell you where she is but don't panic." Edith starts and I nod me head. "The hospital."

I don't see how I cannot panic. My eye widen and I think my heart stop beating for a moment. I take a staggered step back processing this information. Why the fuck is she in the hospital? What happened in such a short space of time? She was just with me a few hour ago.

"W—why?" I ask in a shaky voice, feeling my heart clench in my chest.

"Nothing happened to her, but I think you should go there just for moral support. The girl will never admit that she's suffering even if you beg her."

She doesn't even have to tell me twice; I'm already out the door and starting my car. I always knew that she has issues at home but I don't know what kind of problems. Samara always looks both physically and mentally exhausted. She's tiring herself out and I feel bad for keeping her with me for so long when she could have been with whoever that needed her more.

I reach the hospital within record time and I speed down the hall. I reach the front desk and ask them about Samara. They tell me that they don't have anyone admitted to the hospital with that name but she is on the guest list. I thank the lady at the front desk and she even asks for a picture. I don't decline because she is a fan.
