Chapter Nine

   S A M A R A

I SILENTLY FOLLOW behind Trent as he unlocks his apartment door. It's not at all what I was expecting. His place has this homely effect, but it feels like something is missing. Its almost depressing to just he standing in his door way; I can't imagine what it must he to live her. Trent should consider getting a pet to lighten things up. He could use the atmosphere boost. The set up and furnished definitly depicts that he is well off-way more than me. I would have to sell all of my organs to get a place like this, and it still probably wouldn't be furnished.

Trent places his hands on my lower back, jerking attention away from his house. His cheeks are slightly tinted pink and leads me toward where I assume is the spare bedroom. He pushes open a door and his smell hits me, instantly calming me.

"We can put Andrea in here and leave the door open."

I nod, placing her on the bed, pulling the duvet over her and making sure that there are pillows on either of her. I don't want her to roll of the bed at some point in the night, especially because I'm expecting to be wrapped up in some... things. I gently peck her forehead before turning to around to her met by Trent's staring gaze.

I questioningly raise a brow, "What?"

He lightly shakes his head. "Nothing. I want to show you my room."

He latches onto my arm and pulls me to the room at the end of the hall. I observe him carefully. He takes a few deep breath before placing his hand on the door hands. He looks a little hesitant to open it, but does after what I imagine is a pep talk in his mind. I look into the room and see that it looks rather abandoned. It's dark because the curtains are not drawn, and the room has a faint damp smell, probably because he hasn't opened the windows in a while.

I can understand his pain and emotional attachment to the memories he has made here. But the whole point of getting over a break up is to forget about the pain that your ex has brought. You can never really truly forget the person, but you can train yourself to forget about the pain. Trent just needs to understand that Michelle didn't understand his worth, but there is someone out there that does.

"You weren't expecting this?" He ask sadly, leaning against the wall as if the room would explode or something.

I sigh. " I wasn't really expecting much." I shrug and he chuckles.

"Its been hard for me to come in here knowing the things we did in here. The room still kind of smells like her." He states, and I can see the pain on his face.

I'll admit, it hurts to know that he hasn't truly gotten over his ex. He could still be holding on to the hope that she might return one day and want him back.

"Smells normal to me." I snicker under my breath, before turning to him. "Did you ever think that maybe its your mind playing tricks on you?"

He raises brow. "Are you saying that I am imagining all of this?"

"Maybe not all of it, but the room smells normal to me. We just need to make some new memories and get you to think differently."

His lips curve into a smirk and his hands rest on my hips, pulling me into his chest. He places a kiss on my nose and forehead, tilting my head up so that I can stare into his beautiful eyes.

"I'm going to fuck you in every room so that every inch of my flat smells like you." He whispers huskily into my ear, sending a shrill of gooseberry to erupt on my skin.
