Chapter 4: I'm The Lucky One

~Emilies POV~

I was walking to class while multitasking on my phone. I was stalking Xander's Instagram when someone slammed me against the wall nearby.

' What the heck...?! '

I look up to see Maddy smirking at me and a finger by her mouth.

" Oopsie " she says like a complete and utter bitch.

" Hi Maddy! What brings you here to the humble hallway? " I said, teeth clenched, my words dripping in sarcasm and hatred.

" Oh, you know, going to meet my boyfriend " she boasts.

" Well who am I to stop you? " I mumble, teeth still clenched.

" Sorry, what was that? " she said twirling a strand of hair around her finger.

" I said- "

" Hey Maddy! " I hear Xander's voice from down the hall.

He's got his perfect blonde hair swept up and his glasses on. He's holder a binder in his arms too.

" Hey Maddy. You know Emilie? " he said walking over, flashing his award winning smile.

" Oh yeah! We actually just met. She is just peachy! " she says sarcastically, but not as much as she wanted to, as Xander will catch onto her antics.

" Ok cool! C'mon Maddy we have to present our project now " he says grabbing her arm pointing in the direction of their classroom.

" Bye Emilie! Nice seeing you again! " he smilies and waves at me as I wave back with a blush on my fave.

' He actually remembered my name ' I sigh, swooning.

~MAJESTICAL MUSTACHE TIME SKIP~

" Hey Zoey! Whats up? " I say skipping over to her and our friends.

" Nothin much. Dude! Did you hear what happened? " she says giddily.

" No, what happened? " I say with pure confusion and curiosity on my face.

" Christian Collins got engaged to his girlfriend! " she yells.

" WHAT?! " I practically scream.

People around us start to stare in our direction.

" What? Haven't you seen a mid- life crisis before? " I yell at the people staring at us.

" I...just....wow...I can't even right now....." I say looking at the ground blankly.

" Yeah, I know right! " Zoe says glumly.

" This is so not fair. Now what am i going to do? " I admit, devastated.

*School Bell Rings*

' Ugh. Great. Another boring class to go to. '

I start trudging very, ever so slowly to my Science class. I walk into class and get out my science papers from yesterday. I set them neatly in the corner of my desk and get out my favorite mechanical pencil. I set the pencil right in the middle of the worksheets and waits for class to begin.

" Alright class. Get out out your worksheets from yesterday. Page 162 in your textbook also. " she says checking stuff on her School Laptop.

I grab my workbook and open to page 162 and set it in the middle of my desk. I get up and walk over to the teacher.

" May I go to the washroom please? " I ask politely.

" Be my guest. " She says.

I walk outside the noisy classroom and into the quiet, abandoned hallway. I make my way towards the bathroom and spot Maddy inside touching up her make-up.

She spots me and smirks.

" Well well well. Look what we have here. " she says prominently, hands on her hips.

I was at loss of words all I did was back away into a wall. She sashays towards me with the devils grin plastered on her face.

" Look here Lil' Bitch. Xander is mine! And you need to back the fuck truck up lil' missy. He was mine, is mine and will be mine. You will stay clear of him from now one got it? " she says proudly of her work.

" M-Maddy? " I hear a voice call from the shadows of the mysterious hallway.

She snaps her head in the direction of the voice and put a smile on her face.

" Oh hey Xander! Why dont you and me skip class and go do something fun. " she says hugging his arm.

' Whoa how did she get over there so fast? '

He shrugs her off with anger and astonishment filling his face.

" Emilie are you alright? "

I just nod as I watch his magnificent face.

" Maddy, we are over. I never want to speak to you again. " Xander spat.

He wrapped his arm around me and pulled me into the little girlies room and I burst into tears and cried into him as he hugged me.

" Shhh Shh its alright. Its ok. She will leave you alone from now on. I promise. " he wipes the tears off my face while looking at my eyes intently.

He starting leaning closer and closer towards me. I could feel my brain melt, heart explode and my eyes closed.
