Eleanor

She wasn't sure if what she did was the right thing but it sure as hell didn't feel great for her. She wanted closure and she decided she'll get it. But one thing is stopping her. Park.
Park was the safe haven in her life. She never replied back to any of his letters thinking that one day they'll drift so far apart that what they had won't even have existed.
She was rough like a dandileion, more of
a weed than anything else. She wasn't delicate and she wasn't the cutesy type.
Gently pushing herself off her bed so her relatives wouldn't hear the floorboard creak like ghastly ghosts, she walked slowly towards the phone in the kitchen. With her stomache doing somersaults just by thinking of dialing Park's number. But she always retracts her hand back when she gets to almost finish dialing. Afraid to hear his voice, his hurt and his love, if he even had love left for her.
"Eleanor dear?" Her aunt whispered.
Suddenly spooked she dropped the corded phone onto the floor. "I'm sorry, I-I w-w-was just thinking and when I was done thinking I came down here." She was nervous maybe her aunt wouldn't let her near the phone again. Instead Eleanor's aunt just furrowed her thin eyebrows together. "What's wrong sweetie? You've been acting like this ever since you came back from Omaha." She tried to coax Eleanor into opening up more. Eleanor couldn't say she wanted to move back, be with her brothers and to be with Park, she'd sound ungrateful and as long as Richie was around she could never think about what he'd do to her. She tightened her fist until she her nails dug into her skin.
She looked at her aunt whose arms were crossed, waiting for her to simply say something that explains the late night trip to the landline. "I just miss my brothers and sisters." She whispered softly. Eleanor's aunt didn't do anything but give her a warm smile, uncross her arms and walked towards her. "It's okay sweetie, you'll see them soon." She hugged her tightly, smoothing her red curls down. Eleanor could feel her whole body shuddering with tears.
"Shhhh, let it all out now." Her aunt whispered.
Her thoughts weren't of the brothers and sisters she had, it wasn't the thoughts of Richie trying to find her and destroy her. She shook and sobbed even more when she thought of her punk rock knight, Park.
