Chapter Fourteen

After about two hours of sleeping, I decided to go down to the dining area in the hotel, and meet up with Gyro and order myself something.

"How was your slumber, Sleeping Beauty?" Gyro teased as he played with my hair.

"It was fine, I dreamed about all the races I'd win, and how I'd become king of the field. I'd be absolutely unstoppable.." I smiled as I layed on Gyro's shoulder drinking a glass of wine.

"I know your definitely gonna win. Ive just been waiting for my dessert. Its estimated time is pretty long, so thats why there isnt anything besides our wine and a few breadsticks." Gyro smiled as he put his arm around me.

"Can I take your order sir?" The waitress asked me

"Sure, just a cheesesteak. Nothin too big." I shrugged. "With fries."

Thirty minutes later, I was only there at the table since Gyro decided to leave. I let him since he was kinda bored. Im bored myself but also pretty hungry. So, I texted him that I'd be over once im done with dinner since I'm not a big fan of dessert. I mean, I'll probably take two cheesecakes for me and Gyro to the hotel room, so thats what Im gonna do.

"Would you like anything for dessert?" The waitress asked

"Two cheesecakes to go, thats all." I said as I gave her my dinner plate.

"Alrighty! I'll get your check with the cheesecakes!" The waitress smiled as she walked off with a smile and my dinner plate. I texted Gyro that I would be back at the hotel room once the cheesecakes are done and he was excited because he knows that we both love cheesecake. Especially New York Style. After twenty minutes, since it was so busy, I finally got the cheesecake and filled the check. Once she came by, I gave her the check and shook the young ladys hand and left the hotel restaurant and headed to my hotel room. Once I got there, I saw Gyro just watching television and reading the newspaper

"Hey, darling! I brought cheesecake for us!" I smiled as I got a napkin and placed the cheesecake slice for Gyro on the napkin for him.

"Thanks, I brought us wine. We can just watch sappy movies if you want." Gyro smiled as he caressed me and kissed me on the lips as I did so as well. "Gosh, your lips are so soft."

"Yours are as well, dummy. I love you." I smiled as I sat on his lap and read the newspaper with him as we both ate the cheesecakes I brought. After two hours, we decided to just head to sleep, and cuddle each other in ones arms since it was EXTREMELY cold.

"Sh-shit, its super c-cold!" I muttered

"Just come in my arms, dammit. I'm as warm as a teddy bear or whatever." Gyro smiled as he pulled me in closer to hug me for warmth as I wrapped my legs around Gyro's legs "I dont want you to get a cold, or frostbite darling."

"O-Ok.." I smiled as I hugged Gyro tightly and digging my head under his hoodie to feel his warm, muscular body.

Once morning hit, it was colder than I expected and got on the protective gear for this temperature, and woke Gyro up to go get dinner and then ran over to the arena to train for a few hours.

"I'm glad you two could come in time. Its pretty chilly, so tomorrow's tournament in West Virginia is cancelled for the tenth. So, we have time." Helena smiled. "Want hot cocoa before training?"

"Sure, that would be fantastic." I smiled as I drank some hot cocoa and gave Gyro the other cup. "Geez, its chilly."

"Theyre only doing one round today because of how chilly it is. It could reach 0 degres by the end of the day." Helena shivered.

"Alrighty, contestants. We should get going since the temperature will drop pretty quickly, so line up!" The spokesman for the race said over the mic as I got on Slow Dancer Jr and trotted to my place in the race.
