Her Hero (Ty Lee x OC)

Prologue

Chen walked through the streets of The Fire Nation Capital, rushing through the people standing in his way.
Finally he found himself in front of the gates of Fire Lord's Palace, the guards bow to him and open the gates for him to walk in.
He made his way over the War Hall, the Headquarters of The Fire Nation Army, where his father, other officers and generals and the Fire Lord Ozai himself was waiting for him.
Chen gulped before stepping in the room and saw his father- Commander Zhao, with a serious look on his face, with a head hung low like something is bothering him.
Chen stand in a soldier stand bow to the other generals before saying:
-You wished to see me, Father.
Zhao only gulped before respond:
-Yes, Chen. In fact I have something important to tell you.
Cold sweat almost instantly rushed on Chen's forehead, his mind now understanding why he was called here.
-Anythting, Father.- he bowed respectively.
Zhao begin to speak again.
-I tried to not bring you in this war as long as I can, Son. But I cannot hold you any longer.-he said.
Zhao walked to the battle map and pointed to a cliff in the Northern part of The Earth Kingdom.
-There are Earth Kingdom battalions who defend this land, we almost clear them, but the squads from this position are still holding back.
-We need this position because this is the last gap between The Earth Kingdom and The Northern Water Tribe.-spoke another general
-And we desided to give you an opportunity to prove yourself as a commander.-finally said The Fire Lord Ozai.
His father begin again.
-We'll give you a squad of ships with catapults and air balloons with them. Your goal will be to clear the Earth forces defending the cliff and drive them back, so we can finish the Sea blockade and finally concentrate the rest amount of power on The Northern Water Tribe.-he finished.
-We need to start the Siege of North as soon as we can, so bring the best from you and your soldiers.- spoke the same general from before.
-The nation is with you, Young Commander! Do not disappoint your peoples!-spoke The Fire Lord
Chen nodded and put his right palm on his hearth.
-I will do what is best for our country. I promise to fight passionately for the ones I love most, and last but not least to not disappoint those who put me on that position.- he said and bowed again.
The generals looked at one another and they all saluted the young officer.
-Chen, you're officially promoted into lieuthenand of The Fire Nation Forces.- said Zhao, his voice full of pride and at the same time fear, that he might lose his only child.

(Later)

Zhao and Chen were walking together through the corridors and were talking about the new promotion that Chen has been awarded with. Questions filled his head and were coming out one after another, until one of them come out from his mouth.
-What about my friends here?- he asked
Zhao turned to him and thinked for the moment.
-The Princess and her friends?- he asked his son, who only nodded, but on his mind wasn't them, there was she. The One of them who filled his brain with so many questions, but not the answers. The One who was enough for him just to hear her talk and he would've lost a track of the time.
-Well if you're going to miss their presence, I suppose you should say a goodbye to them.- Zhao turned to look at his son, but he wasn't there anymore.

(Chen's POV)

I already said my goodbyes with every friend that I had in the city, the only one left was her.
I was racing through the corridors knowing that this may be my last chance.
I walked into the garden that we used to play as a kids, and I saw her. Again walking on her beautiful, soft arms.
She was a true definition of the grace, beauty and kindness, whatever I do my heart always belonged to her.
I take the initiative and coughed a little so she would notice me. She flip on her legs and turned to face me, almost instantly smiling when saw me.
-Chen!- she runned up at me and hugged me. I hugged her back and we parted I sighed deeply and looked down.
-What is it? You seem upset.- she asked and her eyes filled with concern about me.
-I came here because I need someone to talk with.- I looked into her pretty brown eyes like for the last time I will ever see them.
-Of course if you need anything, you can always tell it to me-uh I mean us.- she corrected herself.
-Let's go sit near the lake.- She told me.
I nodded and we walked there and sat on the soft grass. The wind blow in our hairs and I looked at where turtle-ducks were swimming, I just follow them with my eyes.
-So, you mind telling what is bothering you?- she asked as she sat closer to me.
I looked at her and turned my face to east where I will go fight for my country.
-Tomorrow I will leave.- I tell her.
-What?!-she had a shocked impression on her face.
-Don't worry. It's not permanently- I sighed knowing that there is a chance to not return from the war.-,or it is....?
-Will you tell me what's going on?-she was now close to shout.
-My duty called Ty. I'm going to war.- she fell silent and looked down at the lake.
-I wanted to make this last night at home special for me, my friends, family and the girl I love most.
She turned instantly when hearing the last.
-Which is....?- she asked as she could bend fire with her eyes.
I looked at her and moved closer, so I can kneel in front of her face.
-You, really wanna know?- I looked her directly in the eyes.
She blushed a little, but noded. I looked ath her lips knowing that this is the last chance I could get.
Without a word I just pecked her lips. When I broke the kiss I looked in her eyes and she was without words.
-Does this answer your question Ty?- She looked me in the eyes and nodded. Pink shades appeared on her cheeks.
I chuckled and move forward to kiss the her cheek who was now red.
My lips touch the smooth skin of her face and her cheek become even more reddish.
-I'll see you again Ty.- I smiled at her. I know I had given her only hope, but that's what I have now too. But I'm sure for one of the promises I made and that is: Even if it means my death, I will fight to the last dying breath to defend my country, honor, nation and her.
