Withered childhood

Childhood blossomed my life, like a dazzling sunflower

under the bright, protective eyes of the glorious sun

Laughter of innocent youth swirled through the wind

as we raced through the grass and let our spirits run

We went on imaginary quests and many adventures

battled many dragons and explored new, foreign lands

We conquered beasts and creatures of superior might

in our fantasy world concocted in an inspired trance

Now, I drown in nostalgia, reminiscing at the past

The sunflower's childhood spirit stripped from its core

All the stories we weaved in our heads seem to fade

Fade along with our childhood and the smile we wore
