End of the World

The dark, dusky skies coloured by a poisonous hue
illuminated by the feeble sun, descending out of existence
Millions and millions of black, inky clouds assembled
over the deserted globe, until the last light faded into silence

Lightening struck, illuminating the scene with a blinding flash
followed by a violent thunder, rumbling through the scorched lands
the clouds burst into a huge downpour, raining down in torrents
while the air turned white and the wind howled in a hazy trance

The deluge soon turned into an ocean of destruction and fury
and the world turned dark, swirling and churning water in its wake
The remaining were uprooted forcibly from the scorched earth
and the deluge grew and tossed them violently, causing a violent quake

Once, this planet was blessed with an abundance of wealth
embracing the green landscape and a huge blanket of cotton skies
and an assortment of creatures, meant to live in perfect harmony
However, the blessings turned to be a curse with blatant lies

Their harmony dissolved into the depths of bitter wrath and conflict
Until all that remained was their parched graves beneath the veil of sands
Now, the thunderstorm wiped the foot prints of their existence
All that's left is the sun-rise, to mark the start of new life and new lands
